You could get lucky getting years of trouble free service BUT your steel wheels will be ate slam up with RUST. I AVOID that stuff at all cost & I have 16 tires on the farm that is fluid filled.

This digital gauge doesn’t appear to be for fluid filled tires.

Napa or Milton Brands are the best quality & makes a springloaded air gauge specifically for fluid filled. I wouldn’t dare use calcium chloride liquid as it Will ABSOLUTELY DESTROY steel wheels. I’ve filled numerous tractors frt AND rear tires with 25% antifreeze & water.

I’ve learned in my old age that a one trick pony does it’s one particular job WELL. It’s more efficient & doesn’t compromise any at all. Equipment that does various jobs doesn’t shine bright in any one category.

Normal characteristics of RD deck. Nothing defective. My old one was the same way. Both of my SD will run hot too if dry & wind is blowing clippings back on you & the mower (I can’t run a side chute with my heavy clippings around the farm)

You have to be QUICK when adding AND removing your air Chuck. I have 16 antifreeze mix fluid filled tires on tractors & Zero mowers here on the farm. Napa makes a springloaded gauge for liquid that works great. You have to keep it applied on stem to read it.

A homeowner or cattle farmer doesn’t need precise ground speeds. Lots of other applications needs a certain trans option capable of running exact ground speeds. Most 6 8 & 12spd trans have Big Gaps between gears not allowing this.

The newer mechanical suspension seats are pretty good & way better than the older ones. I’d try one first. Adding an air ride seat assy shouldn’t be too bad of an install but you’d need to run power to the pump motor.

Most ppl don’t run enough pressure with fluid filled & they leak around the bead. I’d think 20psi would be the bare bone’s minimum to keep the bead seated.

I changed the hydraulic fluid & filter in a 5093E with 700hrs & fluid was clean as a pin with very little contamination on the screen filter. Overkill imo less than 7-800hrs

By your symptoms : I’d say it’s your power reverser switch assy. The brass contacts inside it gets worn especially with your hours. I’ve had the same issues with a 5093E & a New PR switch fixed mine

My old ZD1211 bogged pretty bad in thick grass on steep hills. It was disappointing to me. It was ok on flat ground. the RD deck will keep you clean as a pin mowing BUT the radiator fan sucks a lot of it into the screen. Every application is unique tho.

Lol I’d never get done stopping every 2hrs. It takes me 9hrs to mow this place not counting the bush hogging with 15ft batwing. I mow about 3 days week to keep 20acres under control

IF you cut super dry grass on a windy day where you’re getting covered in clippings with side chute removed : your F series will run scalding hot after 2+ hrs of mowing. All 4 of my ZD SD & F3710 SD has & the ZD RD was way way worse.

Mine has done this from day 1 brand new. I run a $90 3qt hydroZorb membrane filter on my 550gal diesel tank & never had a problem with 3 tractors using from same tank. It’s in the mowers fuel system some how.

I mow some insane steep banks with Horizontal swipes & always figured that’s why mine was off. No biggie tho I love my 4cyl Turbo Zero

My left tank (sitting on seat) always takes 1.5-3gal more to fill than the right tank. I’ve never been able to diagnose why either.

Creep range is an option on a 12spd that makes it an 18spd.

I bought a new F3710 & it did this too & really bad if I was headed uphill when turning. I fluid filled all 4 tires & it helped a little. It wasn’t the machine for my application so I traded it for another ZD1611.

I got my new ZD1611 weighted up front like my older ZD1511. Weights are 25lbs each & brackets are 20lbs each. Each side will hold a 3rd weight but the 140lbs keeps the front end down climbing these steep farm banks here.

Gas engines are extremely hi revving with vibe & bogs badly with no torque imo

The Kubota ZD1211 & bigger models has an actual transmission with an internal wet clutch & not lil hydraulic pumps at each wheel with an electric PTO clutch like all other competitors. No comparison imo

I’ve seen those Predator blades. They look identical to Oregon brand blades

That’s why I quit using the Gator Blades because they don’t have enough lift height. The high lift blades slings heavy clippings much further out of the deck (no chute deflector)

Has any F owners out there mowed Steep banks Horizontally ? I know these get good traction mowing up or down but the rear steer tail-swing makes the rear end scoot downhill a foot or so when trying to steer uphill to stay strait inline from my 9.5hrs of running this new unit. It just doesn’t...

My F3710 being 4” narrower than my ZD1511 feels way more tippier than the Zero In fact it’s actually scary seeing the upper tire rear up while mowing my bank horizontally.

You are 100% correct (y) I should have rented or tested a 4wd front deck to mow my steep bank horizontally FIRST Before buying one :rolleyes: The rear steer walks downhill with the tail-swing when trying to mow strait lines then you’re sideways & can’t recover : sliding further down the hill...

I certainly like the power : not bogging in thick grass. & it rides better with all 4 tires fluid filled. But the 4wd front deck mower don’t behave well mowing steep bank’s horizontally here. & grass was bone dry. Rear Steer walks the hind end down the bank when trying to stay strait.

Looks good (y) Width & Weight adds superb stability, traction & ride

You can zoom in on side shot thru the 350lb weights & see the open center. Tires are 90% Fluid Filled too. I couldn’t get the correct width with the wheel weights only fitting on the Domed out side of the wheel center so I had the spacers made.

Mine were open centers. Thru hole i guess you’d say

I had some rear 4” steel spacers made for my JD 5101E from Motosports tech in NV a few years ago.

@LouNY 20psi. My ZD1511 will roll the tire completely off the rim & loose all my fluid IF I run less mowing the same bank horizontally. I ruined one tire last year :rolleyes:

My 2013 5101E (similar to a 5310) has different side shields & wouldn’t accept one

I’ve never seen one on a E series open station before or if they’re made like this to accept one

Same here. I hate low hanging limbs affecting my view off this hill. I cut every limb on my property up 25ft high.

This shield keeps the hot air that’s blown from the radiator off the operator on my 2018 5115M open station. My 2020 5115M came with this shield from the factory. Makes a big difference after riding the tractor for Hours.

@Kmicah40 Are you sure you’ve got shifter completely in park while stopped before you let off brakes ? My 5101E will do this ratcheting clicking sound IF / When I don’t Properly do this method while parking on a hill.

I’ve tried to buy one of these heat shields from JD & parts guys can’t find it listed so I’m getting my machine shop buddy to make me one for my other 5115M that doesn’t have this option. I took my old one off to go by.

I put a little over 2hrs on the F3710 this am getting it all dialed in. I like it well but I still favor my ZD1511 ….. so far ;)

The rear diff must kindly assist when front wheels spins. I hadn’t studied up on that Auto Assist 4wd Clutch Operation yet. I know the front tires spins EXCESSIVELY when turning going slightly uphill 😩

Thanks. My bank is steep 😬 It takes 1-1.5hrs to mow it. The 4.5hrs mowing yesterday was only about half of what I mow weekly :LOL: I need a ExMark 96” Batwing lol to replace my ZD1511-72 for my bigger open areas IF I had $$ to burn.

Notice the 3/8-24 bolts & jam nuts to lock down the 32mm shafts to reduce any slop since they’re pinned & don’t swivel

It’s complete I’m glad I have plenty of adjustment up front because I had to run left side of deck higher to make blades dead level measuring from concrete floor. It mows great. The ride isn’t that great with dry tires after mowing 4.5hrs non stop : they will all 4 be fluid filled...

YW @arto98607 Thanks for the support. I was originally going to stack two or three pieces of the same size tubing & weld to get the correct height until my machine shop buddy suggested this 45° riser which I’m glad he did as it looks way better lol He is working on 3/16 side plate...

I remove side chutes first thing on every mower.

I used Four 55gal barrels but it was a real PITA loading them up, hauling 15 miles to town then having to unload them. I bought me a 550gal tank & let the distributor fill it up here on the farm when I get down to 100gals or so. Simple

I use around 1000gals of Diesel a year in 3 JD tractors & 2 Lawnmowers.

Here in North Georgia : you’ll be Invaded with Field Rats IF you let grass grow tall & thick. Keep it mowed weekly or Bush Hogged monthly & you won’t have a rat problem.

I mow 15 acres a week with a 72” 4cyl Turbo Diesel Zero & Bush Hog another 7 acres every other week all here on the Farm.

It’s possible. The fittings on left side is aluminum.

My grass gets so thick I can’t run the side chute deflector on my SD Deck or it’ll windRow really Bad. But I do get covered with grass & have to make 2 passes blowing it away from driveway & buildings. I do miss that from my 72 RD Deck Zero that I sold. I don’t miss cleaning radiator screen...

It’s funny all the mowing varieties. I mowed here for 20yrs with 6 7 & 9’ RFM’s & 66hp JD tractor. Ride was great. Finish was pretty good. Trim & maneuvering sucked. 72” 4cyl Diesel Turbo Zero cuts this 15acres in same amount of time as the 9’ Befco RFM but like U say it BEATS YOUR BRAINS OUT...

The Peruzzo flail mower deck from @arto98607 post in another thread has much bigger front deck tires than the stockers.

I’m not sure about your questions. Are those welded on tubes up front for extra weight ?
