    Ditch Witch C99

What kind of drive issues are you having? On mine, the planetary gearbox is welded together. The problem was that the part that was supposed to engage it would pop out. The box would spin a turn, then re engage for a short bit, then pop out again. A bit of grinding to change the angle to...

    Cracked bell housing in a 2006 110TLB

The crack you are showing is actually in what JD calls the clutch housing. The transmission bolts into it. The transmission itself does not need to be replaced. It will be removed from the back half of the clutch housing after you have done the front half split of the tractor. Removing the...

Pu Pull the angled plug on the front of the engine. Full is when the oil level is up to the opening, just not quite spilling out.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Watch the throttle butterfly pivot shaft and / or the governor linkage to the carburetor when you apply load. It should move more toward the open position. Another test is to push to linkage one way or the other to speed up or slow down the engine...

I would take a look at the governor mechanism. Sounds like it might be stuck.

    Ditch Witch C99

Nice work. Mine had some strange white stuff growing on the points. Cleaned them up with some emery cloth and it was good. I'll take a look at the oil level inspection system on mine later today and will get back to you. Also had issues with the safety interlock switch.

    448 backhoe John Deere

Removed from a JD 4720. Includes mounting plates. The bucket is the optional 18" heavy duty model. Tractor not included. This is only the backhoe, bucket, mounting plates, and associated hardware. It has an additional step plate so there is one on each stabilizer. Very good condition. Located...

    Advice on replacing JD4720

I have a JD 4720 with a 448 backhoe. When it broke in half I replaced it with a Kubota M62. Not really in the same class. Great machine for what I am doing. So, I have a 448 for sale.

    JD 2305 HST temperatures?

As jsb2b points out, the fan must be intact and properly spinning on the input shaft. Also, be sure the trans cooling fins are not caked with mud or loaded with dust or grass clippings.

John Deere 2210 emits gray smoke, won't start

I ran the 2210 VERY low on fuel because our local fuel delivery took quite a few days to get to me. Once they did, I fueled it up, along with all the other tractors, and drove it over to the storage building. On the way I heard a squealing sound and smelled an unusual burning smell. The...

M62 MFWD lever as it should be

So after 482 hours of operating the MFWD lever on my M62 by reaching way down to engage or disengage, my back had had enough and I finally decided to change things to how I think they should be from the factory. Here's my procedure: Remove the fancy orange knob and the short factory extension...

John Deere 2210 / 2305 pto will not engage

So I pulled the snowplow off the 2210 today and installed the mid mount mower deck. Everything was going great until I pulled out the yellow pto knob and got a big nothing. The short version is that all is now well. There are several threads dealing with this around the net but I have a...

    M62 TLB wheel spacers

Shortly after my 4720 broke in half I realized that I needed a new tractor. So, we looked around a bit and settled on a Kubota M62 TLB. Great machine. Love it so far. Since we have a lot of hills, I would like to get the rear wheels spaced out a bit. The M62 must be a newer model since I...

Backhoe  BT1400 bucket quick attach flavor

I plan to add an attachment on my BT1400 backhoe on my M62 TLB. It has the quick attach feature. I intend to order the ears to weld onto the new attachment from ebay. It turns out that there are at least three Kubota quick attach styles: u25, u35, and u45. My minimally calibrated eyeball...

    Trencher forum?

You might consider adding a trencher forum. Take a look at this thread. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/275875-ditch-witch-c99.html As far as I can tell there is nothing anywhere specifically targeting trenchers. Thanks for a great site. Gary Nordick

    Loader  400X loader masts

I had originally placed this post in the general repair forum. Another user suggested that it belonged here, so I have copied and pasted it in this forum. Ok, I have searched for this topic all afternoon under both 400 and 300 loaders. Both use the same system. The problem is that, when I...

    400X loader masts loose

Ok, I have searched for this topic all afternoon under both 400 and 300 loaders. Both use the same system. The problem is that, when I raise the bucket off the ground, the masts are so loose that I fear they will pop off the mounts. I have adjusted the adjustment screws so they are very snug...
