Royal Purple is also a good oil but the 15W-40 (15 starting) might be a little heavy for these nasty Winter temps. Kioti calls for 10W below 32'F. See this chart.

Here's what I have for the relay location. You say you have voltage to the relays. Is this voltage the 12 volt supply to go to the lights for when the relay closes or the 12 volts from the headlight switch to energize/close the relay? I'll check my manual for a wiring diagram.
