I’m running a Carolina Implements grapple. They appear to also be marketed under the Farm Maxx name. Thread about them here. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/carolina-implement-grapple.476256/

Land Pride RTA1274 not the best choice?

There’s not a rock to be found anywhere on this property. I take that back. I’ve found two large Indian stones on the entire 80 acres so far. The lighter overall weight and 4 tines versus 6 tines are my two largest concerns. Have you had any problem making depth considering that the unit is a...

Land Pride RTA1274 not the best choice?

We’ll be putting in on large (but not huge) personal garden. Now that logging and clearing is done I’ve also added a lot of vehicle width trails around and across our 80 acres. I have a feeling it would get used more for trail maintenance and smoothing until we can get compactible organics...

Land Pride RTA1274 not the best choice?

I've been casually watching tillers on marketplace for a while now. A tiller is the one remaining implement that I would like to have around here. A few implements were left here on the property when we purchased it and I've added Land Pride implements to fill in the gaps. I'm generally happy...

Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

While researching these before I purchased one question always stuck in my mind. Why do they all run the small diameter rear roller instead of just having a pair of caster wheels off the back of the unit?

Could you maybe explain what happened to the rear roller and what failed?

Woods BB48X New PTO Shield Alternative

I like the fact that they come with a selection of bushing so you have a better than fair chance of having at least one set that works.

Woods BB48X New PTO Shield Alternative

I’ve been looking at the Bare Co. cover if for no other reason than the quick release function. My PTO shield is fixed and a real PIA to work around with big hands. If it works I’ll probably convert all of my driven attachments to this style of cover...

    YT235 PTO brake?

Just as I hit send my phone rang. It was Yanmar Support. According to them the YT235 does not have a PTO brake so no overrunning clutch is required. Hopefully that’s correct information. It could get spendy if that’s incorrect.
  10. G

    YT235 PTO brake?

I’m familiar with the slip clutches but this unit already comes with a shear bolt for excessive load. I’m more concerned with the weight of the flywheel causing access wear to the PTO brake if the tractor has one installed.
  11. G

    YT235 PTO brake?

Can anyone tell me if the YT235 has a built-in PTO brake? I just added a Wood Maxx WM-8H chipper to the other heavy rotating implements I have and I’m concerned that the 200 pound flywheel on that unit may require the use of a PTO clutch. If it doesn’t require the use of one I’d rather keep...

Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

Found this 10 month old Peruzzo Fox Cross 1600 on marketplace a few days ago. Reached out to the seller to see what the story was. Apparently he ran it for two passes around his pond and decided he wasn’t comfortable being that close to the bank due to how steep it was. It’s been parked in the...

    Yanmar YT235 Rear Remotes?

My turn to bring this one back from the dead. Has anyone ever received and/or installed the rear hydraulic remote kit? Can’t find a picture of it other than in the installation manual. The pictures make it look like the control levers sit right over the top of the three-point control. Due to...

    New YT235C Loader Hydraulic Leaks

The third function kit is just fine. It’s the factory quick attach connectors from the tractor to the factory loader that are leaking.
  18. G

    New YT235C Loader Hydraulic Leaks

That's what I ordered and what I was billed for. The kit came from Yanmar with the loader, new front wheels, and the rear light kit. When they handed me the installation and owners manual it was the WR Long kit. The fluid is coming from inside the quick connectors. If you just wiggle them back...
  19. G

    New YT235C Loader Hydraulic Leaks

I asked for the Yanmar kit when I ordered it not knowing that Yanmar didn’t actually build their own third function kits. It ended up being the W.R. Long kit. It's ok but more of a universal kit in my opinion. The control handle leaves a lot to be desired. It sit too high but I'll correct that...

    New YT235C Loader Hydraulic Leaks

After months of waiting and a comedy of errors on the dealers part I finally have the YL310 front end loader and 3rd function kit installed. After fixing all of the hose routing issues (due to a terrible installation) I parked the tractor assuming it was ready to go. I came out a few days later...

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

Hooked up and functions well. A few things to note. On a YT235 the hydraulic hoses are excessively long and the quick attach lever locks don’t have as much spring tension on them as I would like to see. Seems just the tiniest bit loose. That should be an easy fix. The 62” seems to be a pretty...

Do you have the 3rd function on your YT235?

Just had the WR Long 3rd function kit installed on my YT235 and I’m already finding some things that appear to be done incorrectly. If someone has the 3rd function kit installed I need to ask a couple of questions or share some comparison photos.

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I just sent Connor Tractor a message about the 54 inch version (which they are out of) and here is the reply from the owner. “There is a 54" standard duty which weighs 275lbs for $1595. That is the only option in the 54”. Cylinders are on top because there is not enough space beside the QA...

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I made the same mistake when I was trying to find information on this grapple. That website is for Carolina Attachments. The grapple that I purchased is Carolina Implements which doesn’t appear to have a website. I was told that they are dealer direct only.

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I purchased the tractor for a song with just 4.1 hours on it (and a brand new rotary cutter) from the original owner. Apparently they purchased it to mow and nothing else so they bought it without the FEL. The rotary cutter has never seen a single blade of grass. The whole thing was very strange...

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

It sucks. I’ve been waiting 6-1/2 months for the front end loader. It’s been a huge comedy of errors.
  30. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I just noticed something. If you go back to the very first post in this thread and look at the first two pictures that show a grapple sitting on the showroom floor you can see that in fact the jaw is closed further. I’m guessing mine is going to need some touch up on the tips of the teeth.
  31. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

Below you can see just the tiniest bit of interference on the two outer teeth. If the cylinders do in fact have enough travel to close the jaw even further this wouldn’t take five minutes to clearance with a side grinder. I’ll report on the outcome when the tractors is back in my possession.
  32. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

Haven’t hooked it up yet. The tractor is up at the dealer up in Georgia having the front end loader installed along with a few other items. Should have it back in a couple of days. I really haven’t been able to find much on this company. I know they make a standard duty and a heavy duty of this...

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

The stickers on it claim that it’s AR400 but I don’t know how you would ever prove or disprove that without hardness testing.
  34. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

Haven’t made it that far. Long day of driving and it was dark by the time I grabbed some chow. My guess is that the whole unit is an import.

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I drove down to pick up the used Land Pride FDR3690 mower that I had been working a deal on and stopped by Connor Tractor to look over the grapples. Liked what I saw and loaded up the 62" HD version for $1895.00 out the door. After getting it home I went over it even more thoroughly. Here are my...

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I plan on running over there this weekend if they’re open on Saturdays. I’m curious to see the welds and such in person. Hopefully I won’t give up too much lift capacity going with the 68” version. Might drop back to the 62” just to be safe.
  38. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I missed that. Had to go in on my laptop to be able to zoom in on the pictures and sure enough, there it was. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
  39. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

Good find. It appears to be identical right down to the stickers. I wonder if these are just being imported and sold under multiple brand names? As you stated, anything can be fixed with a welder as long as the steel is decent quality.
  40. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I haven't been following implements for some time. Can I assume that this relates to EA? Good eye. That kind of observation is the type of input I was looking for. I wonder how hard it would be to source the correctly sized pins to replace the bolts?
  41. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

I have it in my notes to check for grease points. I can see Zirk fittings on the upper cylinder connection points but I can’t see any others. A closer inspection will be required.
  42. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

The heavy duty version is $2000 and I might be able to get it a bit lower. That seems to be comparable to a lot of the other 60”-62” on the market for what appears to be a more well built unit. It just seems odd that I can’t find anything on the company itself.
  43. G

    Carolina Implement Grapple?

While browsing grapples for my Yanmar YT235C I ran across an ad from a fairly large tractor dealer that's not far from me. After looking more closely at the pictures I liked what I saw so I started asking questions. He claims that they are made by Carolina Implement (not to be confused with...

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

Where I came from if you needed a post hole you basically just dug rocks out of the ground until you had a big enough hole. You couldn’t dig 6 inches without hitting a decent size boulder. So far I haven’t been able to find a single rock on the entire property. It’s very strange to me.

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

I’ve tried the county and all of the local well drilling companies that have records that go back far enough. Zero records on any of these wells. I’ve been able to piece together a surprising amount of information from the previous owner and some catalogs and mailers that keep showing up for...

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

I feels like it sometimes. I also found an abandoned well right off the corner of the garage that was covered up with brush. While the well company was out here inspecting the other two wells I popped the cap off and had them drop a camera down in it. Appears to be in exceptionally good shape...

New to me B3030 Loader Control Issue

Quick update. Thankfully the problem was the cable and not the valve. The aluminum bell where the cable connects to the bottom of the control valve had a manufacturing flaw that kept it from making a weatherproof gasket seal to the bottom of the valve. Having been parked outside it's whole life...

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

One last update. Drug the boom pole out of the ditch once they removed the downed trees. It's a Leinbach Line brand and appear to be in perfect condition. Should come in handy. We found a helicopter chassis out in the heaviest area of the property. I don't know much about helicopters but it...

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

As near as I can tell everything is just buried in 20+ years of undergrowth and the tree litter that rains down around here every time a cloud farts. The loggers are taking care of that by clear cutting the pine to make pastures and feed plots while leaving all of the native hardwoods.

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

So, the property just keeps on giving. Next to one of the parking areas I found the 3-point frame for a Woods 1130 post hole digger completely overgrown by weeds. Had I not clipped the corner with my front tire and popped it up a bit I never would have known it was there. Couldn't find the...

New to me B3030 Loader Control Issue

New snag. While messing with the loader control I noticed a steady stream of oil coming from one of the lift cylinder fittings. New to me B3030 Loader Control Issue

Between me and the loggers we've found all sorts of stuff. 6.5' box blade, Case hay wagon frame, 3-point gin pole. Yesterday I found the frame to a Woods post hole digger. No auger or gear box so far. The more I walk the more I find.

New to me B3030 Loader Control Issue

I'm sorry. I should have said joystick. I'm confident that the joystick is lubricated to the point of absurdity. Next step is to disconnect the cables at the valve end to isolate the issue to the cables (and get lube all the way through them) or the valve itself. Since the valve doesn't have the...

New to me B3030 Loader Control Issue

Short back story. I purchased property in Florida and have been finding all kinds of stuff on it. The previous owner said that there were two tractors on the property that he would leave if I thought that I could get them running. When I finally moved to the property I found the Massey 1533...

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

I heard back from A & B this morning. “That is our 6-½ ft wide BLC box. It is a medium duty box and we made them 10-15 years ago.” I responded back and asked them if they could provide a weight on it but nothing yet.

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

That's what I was expecting when he told me what he had found. I'll send photos to A & B in the morning and see what they can tell me about the box blade. Even just a weight would be good information. I'm going to walk the skid trail in the morning and see if I can locate the gin pole.

A couple of interesting finds on my property.

I purchased 80 acres of timbered property in Florida not long ago. Needed to open up some acreage for pasture and a site to build a new shop. Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

Got her home. Spent a couple of hours washing and scrubbing every nook and cranny to eliminate the mildew and moss that had started from sitting in the shade and Florida humidity. I went over all of the rubber seals and hoses with my old standby. 303 Aerospace Protectant. Cleaned up beautifully...

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

Just got back from looking at the tractor. For all intents and purposes it is a new tractor. Dash shows just 4.1 hours. Interior still smells new. Mower has never cut a blade of grass. There's a micro scratch across the hood that will easily buff out. Probably from metal grommets on the tarp...

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

To be honest the whole thing feels kind of weird but she contacted me and she set the price. I've asked her repeatedly if she would prefer to sell it for more through normal channels and she has declined everytime. I even offered to sell it for her so that she wouldn't have to deal with...

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

I would be purchasing it to keep and adding the correct YL310 loader. If it seems to be a decent tractor I would probably let my older cabbed B3030 go.
  71. G

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

This unit is the cabbed version. I need to run over and see if it has any of the optional equipment installed. Nothing is called out on the original invoice other than the mower.
  72. G

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

Crap. Never even thought of that. I assume that’s just going to show me list price and won’t reflect any rebates, discounts, or dealer adjustments. Is that a safe assumption?
  73. G

Yanmar YT235C. Good deal or pass?

Let me start by saying that I need another tractor like I need a hole in the head. With that out of the way here's what I've run across.
