Plan to fill with concerte. Came with Cat 0 pins and bushings. Would drilling the hole out to accept standard Cat 1 pins weaken that bracket too much?

Should I just stick with the pins it came with?

I'd drill it out, but I got a welder if it breaks ...

How much weight were you thinking of adding to it?

Are the pins spacing side to side right?

Or just put bushings over the existing Cat 0 pins.
Then if something breaks it is more likely to be the Cat 0 pin than the tab.
Cat 0 is 5/8" pin OD and Cat 1 is 7/8"

NAPA has hard nylon 1/2 x 7/8 for $2.00. Then drill ID to 5/8"

Home Depot sells real steel bushings with std 1/8" wall. A package of 5 for $12.

TSC also sells bushings.

Agri Supply has a Cat-0 to Cat-1 bushing, but if not somewhat local to you, the shipping will most likely be much more than the bushing. If you have a tractor house near you, you might want to check there. Cat 0-1 Lift Arm Reducer

Get a bridge reamer.....They come in all sizes....

Example:

That’s a good tool but kind of expensive for two holes.

A step drill bit would work and is was less $$ and any hardware store or Lowe’s/Home Depot will have them.

They grab less than a drill bit, but not as smooth as the reamer.

A farmer friend had a similar box some years ago for his TYM tractor- maybe the same one you have, as the name is familiar. After converting the pins to Cat 1, the whole assembly was too narrow to reliably use with a quick hitch and would fall off on one side occasionally.

I ended up re-doing (welding) the whole pin assy. using angle iron to make it wider and stronger. Sorry, I am unable to find any pics of the mods I made. But it now works well.

It comes with bushings. He’s looking to replace it with a solid pin that fits cat 1

If you have extra thread length on that cat 1pin, I'd drill the hole out to 7/8 and also drill a backing plate to stack in there to support the enlarged bracket hole. Or maybe find a large, thick washer or two...

You can get cat1 pins that thread into cat0 holes, i would avoid drilling while those are avaialble, so you can go back if you want.
Or use the Cat0 and add a bushing to fit Cat1. Don't have the size, but if you can't find one, start looking at different sizes of pipe. It doesn't have to be a press fit, just take up some space! Bronze or Oilkite (greased bronze) is available at places that sell bushings.
