Pretty close! I see that one had bench seats, and I honestly debated that, but ended up sticking with my usual bucket seat selection. The sales guy seemed to be a big fan of the buckets, as well, probably due to the nicer center console that comes with that option.

I skipped on the nerf bars, which I'm sure will get me a scolding, the first time my wife has to hop into the thing. But even the sales guy agreed, I can do better with aftermarket bolt-ons, than the OEM bars or steps. I personally hate them, find they get in the way more than helping, but I'm tall and long-legged.

You must be. That is a pretty good step up into any 2500-3500 RAM without running boards or steps.
Well if you do get them stainless stays looking good and structurally sound in rust prone areas.

The red is SHARP! And I personally don't like the blackout packages -- a little chrome or shiny stuff looks good on a sharp vehicle. Certainly wouldn't pay extra for the blackout deals.
Agree that the RED is indeed a sharper looker than the Gray!!
But maybe Winterdeere doesn't care much about being noticed by police and radar easier, Hah!

I had been leaning toward the "Sport" package, when I was looking at the Granite Metallic color, which basically means painted bumpers and grille. I just didn't like the way chrome looked with the granite paint.

But now that I'm thinking of going with the Molten Red, I'm thinking of actually ditching that package, and staying with chrome bumpers and grille.

Thoughts?

I'm a shiny chrome guy, I'd choose that package vice the sport one.

@WinterDeere curious if you stopped at Ford and looked at them in person?

Or just were happy with RAM, and once you drove it, decided to skip Ford?
Doh! Bad news for Ford, on Fox News. But listening to the story, I’m not sure why theyr’e picking only on Ford, it seems like an industry-wide problem.

Yes. The video states it's industry wide.
Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, is paid $27 million per year. Why?
I think CEO salaries should be capped at $1 million base pay and then bonuses if the company is doing well.

Only in passing, really. They keep going back to Ford, clearly trying to give anyone who’s not paying close attention, the impression that “you shouldn’t buy Ford because of this.” I’m not sure who at Ford pissed off someone at Fox News, but it’s a classic fake news hit piece… if there ever were one.

Note the title says “Ford”, and the splash screen is a photo of the Ford CEO alongside a Ford pickup. Nothing about Dodge, Toyota, or GM there! Heck, they even threw a Ford badge sign in the top right corner, to really drive it home. :ROFLMAO:

Whole other discussion. But I guess it’d depend on the bonus structure. I certainly wouldn’t do that job for only $1M/year, nor would anyone else competent enough to do it. There are just too many other ways to make that sort of money, without the daily public floggings that are the daily bread of being CEO of a major automotive brand.

Reviewing my order, the only thing I have my doubts about is the bucket seat selection. It does give you a better center console, with more storage and phone chargers, etc. But I don't live or work out of my truck, so I never have even half the storage spaces filled... I really don't need a 10 cubic foot center console, whereas I might occasionally appreciate room for a 6th passenger.

Oh well... order is confirmed. Time to stop debating over it! 🤪

What a shame 52k and rusted out, it has 2/3 if its life left... You should really consider oil undercoating your next one. Places like Krown rust control, rustproof or Rustcheck will drills holes inside your door panel and shoot oil inside your doors, rocker panels and tailgate, then put rubber plug back in these holes. It is $140 ish, you need to do it once a year and you will never get rust on your body panels. My truck is a 2012 ram with 150k miles and has no rust on it. It is worth it and it works. I have seen vehicle with the magnetic thing ''Electronic Rust Protection Module'' on them and that don't work as soon as the warranty end the vehicle disintegrate in pieces.... That is not worth the money.

Good luck with your new truck....

I paid $35k for that truck, and got $15k back in trade, so actually only $20k for the 9 years I owned it.

I don't know how I feel about that, to be honest... it's not the worst money I've ever spent. But I would like the next to last a bit longer.

Yeah but today they are a lot more money for the same truck and also if we convert that 35k in today money... its more like 45k... you also would've got a lot more if it wouldn't be rusted.

BS "news" article for sure. Yes, it is necessary to remove the cab from a Ford (and GM and Ram) for certain engine work - much easier to access the components. But changing a transmission oil pan gasket DOES NOT require removing the cab, as they say in the video!

And they fail to address the other BIG reason it takes so long to do a repair. Availability of parts. Lots of posts out there on the truck forums about people having to wait weeks to have their truck repaired because the dealer simply cannot get the part needed.

Recalls. That's how Ford has chosen to take care of potential problems. I owned an F150 for 9 years. During that time it had 3 recalls issued. NONE of which were necessary to do, so I opted not to have them done. I own a Toyota now and there's ongoing discussions on the forums now about how Toyota refuses to issue official recalls - they opt to quietly fix the on-going problem in lieu of issuing a recall.

Never understood this slang. What’s it mean? Around here, this is what we call a “taco wagon”
When TBN member Oosik ordered his Power Wagon in 2018, we kept getting updates on the wait. At some point he mentioned it was being made in Mexico, and somebody said that when it finally arrived it would probably have taco wrappers in it. The name "Taco Wagon" was born, and stuck thriughout the life of his truck.
I tried to find the original thread, but it's been inactive for so long that it likely has been rotated out. It doesn't seem like it was 8 years ago...

I thought that was referring to a Tacoma somehow...
