Kubota B7800 - wLA402 and 72" MMM
I've been a Kubota guy for 18yrs of wedded bliss to my B7800 which is 30hp/Hydro/LA402 Loader/72in Belly Mower and about 1000hrs. I also picked up a well used Kubota T1600 (riding mower sized) for some mowing duties.

Budget is $25K range including loader - uses are finish mowing, loader work for logs, gravel. Road mainentance, firewood, landscape stuff. 1500lbs would be amazing for my needs. Plan to trade/sell the B7800.

Had a little brush fire and I had the deck parked along the ditch full of leaves. Belly Mower now has no paint or rubber items. So I'm in the market for something with a little more loader lift and I guess moving to a rear finish mower. Possibly adding a med sized zero turn for around the house. But if I can get by with the tractor I will not add a ZTR. We are on 10acres, but mow 5 of that semi regularly in a "park" like settings lost of trees. We have "yard" not lawn.

On paper the Kioti CK3520 looks great (better seat, remotes, decent ergonomics) especially the loader specs for its size. I drove 1 around the lot, seemed fine. Loader didnt seem to do regenerative (lift and curl) as smoothly as Kubota, but I'm sure part of that was me. Also looked at a NH WorkMaster which was a little more money and less features. My concern was long term parts etc as I keep stuff for a long time.

Kubota Dealer has a used 750hr 2022 L3560 w/LA555 Loader. its a few thousand less and used compared to the Kioto CK3520. If it had the LA805 loader I prob would have jumped. But I dont think the LA555 is enough improvement on paper specs over my LA402. I drove a used Kubota L4240 and that frame size is too big/heavy for getting into the woods and mowing near the house.

LA402 - 1060lbs at pin
LA555 - 1190lbs at pin
LA555 - 1715lbs at pin

I have a L3560 with the LA555 loader because I got a killer deal on it. I love it but the additional lift capacity of the Kioti would be hard for me to pass up.

I'm not a fan of loader ultimate lift specsmanship...there are just too many ways to fudge the numbers.
I have a feeling that most similar size tractor/loader combos will lift roughly the same weight to the same height. Why would they not?

For our chores, I've noticed that max lift is more often limited by the tractor stability than by how many pounds I'm lifting....particularly if I need to move the load.

What makes a difference to me is how controllable and smoothly the loader controls work. I like a loader that will smoothly lift and lower when it is barely moving the bucket...just making slight adjustments.
YMMV,

The loader on the L3200 I had was pretty capable. The specs I could find indicate the LA555 has about 80# more lift than the loader it had. Here's a picture of it relocating a Jeep that was in the way. Admission: Even though I've always had more than I needed, there was always the desire for "bigger".

To be fair, the OP's problems seem to stem from a poor dealership; that said, you can't go wrong with a Kubota.

When I was shopping for a new tractor I ended up with a used Kubota because new prices were very high yet I felt that a Kubota was the safest bet for my money. This is all my opinion of course. 3 yrs and 500 hrs later I still believe I made the right decision

It's interesting that you found the L4740 too big, the tractor is only about 8in longer and 150#'s heavier overall than the 3560. The wheelbase is only 2-3in longer and the front axle is slightly wider, but overall width is still under 6ft.

The loader on the 4740 does have more reach at ground level which might make it feel longer.

I'd personally go for the 4740, I still regret not buying one years ago when I had an opportunity on a killer deal.

If you do go for a L3560, definitely hold out for the LA805!

While Kioti is definitely making great strides in the tractor market, and I think they make a very good tractor ... Of those two, I'd take the Kubota!

This past summer I bought a 2005 Kubota L5030 it had about 3900 hours on it ... So they can last quite awhile!

TOO BIG in relation to my current B7800. I've been living on the same property since 2004. Wood Shed posts are spaced that the little B can get in there at 54in wide, not so sure about the 4240 at 6ft. Landscaping, flower beds, etc. We also have some hills, slopes, trails. Tree limbs while mowing for clearing the ROPS. I think the "little" Grand L size with the "better" loader makes GoldiLocks (me) the happiest.

That 35hp Kioti seems to have the loader lift I'm wanting - 1500lbs range. So would the L35x0 size with the bigger 7 or 8 series loader, but be used vs new to make the budget. 80% of the hrs would be mowing, but on occasion I need to move some logs or rocks around where the 800lbs rating of the B7800/LA402 limits me.

Is it the actual lift of the B7800 that limits you, or is it the rated lift?
They could be different.
If the loader lift is the main reason for buying a new tractor you may want to check the hydraulic pressure to see where the loader relief valve is set. Relief valves can weaken over time, and are usually easy to adjust.

I agree, plus the ability to use the capacity of some of these very powerful loaders requires enormous counterweights (>1000#) that many owners don't use.

To the OP: I was in your shoes in 2004. I could get a new Kioti CK30 for the price of a used Kubota Grand L3130. I am a huge fan of the Kubota Grand Ls, but not the standard Ls. I am glad I went with Kioti, and have gotten more than 20y of near-flawless service.

Back then, Kubota still mounted their FEL joystick next to the steering wheel, unlike Deere, Kioti, and others.

LA402 is rated for 800lbs full height, it will get a smidge over 1000lbs off the ground which is not that big of a red oak log. 35hp GrandL or the Kioti 35 gets me almost double the Loader specs around 1500lbs.

I've got a Guage, I havent checked the B7800 lately, but it was right at the spec 10yrs ago and still lifting the same things. Given the almost 20yr age I dont want to blow the front axle by going 10% over spec or anything. I have replaced knuckle seals already.

I'm also running a Ballast Box on the 3pt full of concrete and scrap brake rotors along with EVERY chain I own hanging from the back - 800lbs.

Well, it is sounding like you have gotten everything out of the little B7800 that it has to offer.

You are sort of in the same situation I found myself in with our similar sized little compact Yanmar.... I spent a lot of time summer and winter for years doing impossible things with that tiny tractor.
It ran perfectly the whole time & I loved it.

Then one day - completely out of the blue - my wife said she had decided that it was time to go buy ourselves a brand new tractor better suited to our needs.
I argued against it of course, but she twisted my arm until I gave in, although I did get her to agree to come along and pick one out.

So we did. That's the Kubota M59, & it is still perfect for us.
Good luck with the search,
rScotty
