My Everlast machine has a setting called 'Arc Force'. If you have that, try turning it on. My understanding is it will pick up the voltage to maintain current (within a range) to stay lit. I found that I needed to get accustomed to the inverter machine myself.
I have a mig, 80 amp inverter, and a saker welder. The rods are the secret. When I bought the saker I bought a bunch of rods. They come with what I call weld all rods. Could not find any locally. I use the saker rods with the inverter and it does a beautiful job.
Indeed! I printed it out. My Millermatic 175 has a nice chart on the inside of the door, but my stick machine has nothing.
I have tried the 6010, 6013, and the 7014. The 6013 wasn’t too bad but the 7014 was hard to strike. I’m telling you the Saker rods are really great. They work so well even some one who has never welded can lay a good bead. I won’t use anything else.
Try bumping your amps up. I have both an inverter and a transformer welders, both 200amp. The only downside of the inverter is it turns itself off once it gets hot, whereas the transformer welder will go all day. I think some of the inverter welders can do TIG, MIG and stick, and I think those welding types are very different; the welder efficiency is compromised. My inverter welder is stick only and will blow holes as good as the transformer.

I normally run 6011 because I'm here at the farm and they are just a good all around rod for what I do.
I have the amps up to about 90-100 on a 3/32 rod it should throw an arc at least 1/8 away from the metal LOL Should hold an arc without having to cram the rod into the work piece.
This depends on the duty cycle of the machine in question. I had a transformer that would overheat after a half hour and I'd have to wait for it to cool. I had an inverter that did the same.
Give 7014 a try. It runs real well with my Everlast inverter.

That was probably it. 7018 is low hydrogen rod and water has plenty of hydrogen in it. Your rod must have absorbed a bunch of moisture. It will not run correctly when it has absorbed moisture.
if anyone knows of an inverter that will hold an arc with any of 60 series rods let me know. I may just buy another one, But I'm thinking it's all these inverters that are like this and that arc force doesn't seem to be much help
Most ESAB inverters run 6011 well and Everlast offers them as well. Any company that sells them will definitely mention that they will. But if you look for something with a higher open circuit voltage OCV like 65 or higher it should do well with 6010..
