What is this part and function?

Both of my tractors have (unused) cruise control and the other day I DID use it on the old Ford while using it to blow leaves. This was the first time in about 20 or 25 years and only for about 10 minutes.

Don't call the safety police, but the last time I used it was when mowing under trees on a neighbor's yard. I wouldn't do it again today. I'm a little more careful now - and at 76 not quite as nimble

That is what they were trying to emulate. Lets you do anything you want with your feet. With the old tractors you could even stand up over a rough section of ground, allowing your legs to become suspension so your body didn't have to take the shaking. These days the switch under the seat kills the tractor, if it becomes unloaded.

Knew a guy years ago that had a Ford tractor that would pop the tranny into neutral if you stood up off of the seat. Guy discovered it while going down a hill, and stood up to get better visibility. You know the rest..

I use the manual cruise control on my Kubota L5030 HSTC probably 90% of the time!

Of course I use it mostly for just mowing, and if I need to slow down or speed up, I just reach down and adjust the lever ... So far .. I don't really like the "treadle pedal"!

That is it in a nutshell. Wide open areas where you want to go the same speed and direction is where constant speed is nice and a geared tractor is just fine. Let out on the clutch once, until you are done.

Start doing lots of repetitive back and forth actions, like loading, stacking hay and such, the pedal starts to feel a lot better than a clutch and the cruise lever doesn't get touched.

I don't do constant speed with my HST and cruise control, I have a lever beside my left thigh ... I just move it forward or back to adjust my speed or stop, doesn't work in reverse, but basically lets me avoid using the treadle pedal, it's a forward hand control ...

That lever is the "cruise control" lever.

Yeah, I know all that, I actually have two of the manuals, whan I bought the tractor I didn't know that there was a pouch behind the seat, and that the original manual was in it, so I ordered one, and read it, and found out about the pouch behind the seat (not really noticeable in the cab unless you know what your looking for) ...

Note it says to "move the lever", (that means by hand) and I'm not "disengaging" it at that time anyways ... And "preferably" (means optional) ...

Have ever owned or operated one of these?

My Massey Ferguson GC 1725 MB is much different and not really adjustable "on the fly" like this Kubota is.

There are two cables. If cable #90 is the cruise control cable, what is #10?

Also, the angled bar with the notches isn't numbered. What is it for?

It appears to me that cable #10 sets the cruise control and cable #90 is the brake release. The notched bracket holds the setting, don't know why it's not labeled.
