I've never seen a mixer trailer like that before. Is it yours? A rental?
There are a couple rental yards that rent those, with a yard of redi mix loaded. Only down side, or couple here locally; you get 1 hour with the price per yard, which is pretty high per yard ($220+), and the "local" yard is 1 hour each way, and that doesn't include return trip, or pouring time, and with that, I dont want to dump, and make 1 hr return and 1 hour home trip

I have kinda dropped a hint at Ace Hardware, which is maybe 6 miles a couple times, but its like $75,000 for the batch plant and two mixers

Plus the other investment costs (like taxes and insurance). How about someone qualified to run it and their helpers. It gets really expensive really quick!

By some of the rental prices out there it's almost cheaper, more convenient, easier to place concrete with a front or even rear discharge concrete truck. If there's a minimum and I'm not hitting it I'd throw together hopefully with scrap lumber forms for smaller easy to move pads. (With a tractor) of course Or mix your own with 80lb bags of quiqcrete and a cheap harbor freight mixer I've owned one that still works for 15 yrs now, however the belts need to be tight and I don't recommend doing it when it's plugged in trying to rotate drum trying to mix or your device using to tighten belts may hit the electric motor plastic fan blades and take them all out. Lol

The part of the new law banning front seat sitting up to age 16 was dropped.
Because they thought it might look a little silly seeing people driving the car from a booster seat...

Holy cripes is that like 30 yds? With a crew placing and finishing concrete i hope, meanwhile I paid a little over 2k for basically two front discharge trucks with a 4 or 5 bag mix and fiberglass fibers in the mix one slab was 24x36 x5" thick with steel mesh and fiber for my pole barn plus he didn't up charge me for putting all extra shoots on cuz the barn was already built. 2nd pour was 24x30 4" thick with fibers in mix plus I put down wire mesh and 2" high density foam under concrete in my cabins frost wall perimeter, no heaving, cracks, no control joints in either diy placement and finishing (steel trowel on both by me and called In favors to friends kind of played the divorce card also unintentionally kind of although had nothing good to say of "happy bottoms" to my friends at that time. I'm still waiting 12 yrs later for the call from some of my friends for me to help them doing some of there projects I hear them talk to me about.

So the mini batch plant could be taken and set up closer to where it's needed like a gravel pit or something and unlimited amounts of concrete could be made using it. If so I can understand why it's 75k. Misinterpreted your original post.

Yes it's a rental, a one yard mixer. It has a two hour rental time and this week it was $315 for the concrete and the trailer rental, that was for a 4000 pound mix.
That was slightly more then a yard of sackrete. But the labor saved was well worth it. The last I knew the redi-mix companies around here had a 3 yard minimum and the price wasn't much better.

Come on, pics/specs man!
It's a good driver, not prefect by any means. It was my friends dads, he hasn't been able to drive it for years and he asked me to buy it.

It has sat a lot the past few years so needs a good going over. Just drive it home last night. I have a few things I want to do to make it a little more mine now.

Here's a picture from last year when I took it out to a cruise in.

Engine has a 454 crank so ends makes it a 482.

Just Wednesday, I called the regular plant; about 25-30 mins away; 4CY, all in, $932. That includes taxes, short load fee (sliding scale on anything less than 6cy), fuel and enviro fees.

That price was 3000 psi, no fiber, 5" slump.

Edit: They did say they would deliver as small as 1 CY, but the short load fee goes up the less you order

We used to ba able to get those rental concrete trucks, but the guy shut down a few years ago. Must not have been profitable. There is one guy in town that has a rig that mixes the concrete to your specifications right on the site and makes whatever amount you need for smaller jobs. Its much slower than conventional trucks, but allows for a smaller crew to do a custom job. Not sure how his prices compare, but he's been doing it for quite a long time.

All this concrete talk made me wonder what its going to cost to pour 4 yds for my son.
Called the plant and they have a 4 yd minimum without extra fees. So 4 yd delivered is $770. Thats 4000 mix at $161 a yd plus fuel charge.
