I've never seen a mixer trailer like that before. Is it yours? A rental?
Yes it's a rental, a one yard mixer. It has a two hour rental time and this week it was $315 for the concrete and the trailer rental, that was for a 4000 pound mix.
That was slightly more then a yard of sackrete. But the labor saved was well worth it. The last I knew the redi-mix companies around here had a 3 yard minimum and the price wasn't much better.

Come on, pics/specs man!
It's a good driver, not prefect by any means. It was my friends dads, he hasn't been able to drive it for years and he asked me to buy it.

It has sat a lot the past few years so needs a good going over. Just drive it home last night. I have a few things I want to do to make it a little more mine now.

Here's a picture from last year when I took it out to a cruise in.

Engine has a 454 crank so ends makes it a 482.

Just Wednesday, I called the regular plant; about 25-30 mins away; 4CY, all in, $932. That includes taxes, short load fee (sliding scale on anything less than 6cy), fuel and enviro fees.

That price was 3000 psi, no fiber, 5" slump.

Edit: They did say they would deliver as small as 1 CY, but the short load fee goes up the less you order

We used to ba able to get those rental concrete trucks, but the guy shut down a few years ago. Must not have been profitable. There is one guy in town that has a rig that mixes the concrete to your specifications right on the site and makes whatever amount you need for smaller jobs. Its much slower than conventional trucks, but allows for a smaller crew to do a custom job. Not sure how his prices compare, but he's been doing it for quite a long time.

All this concrete talk made me wonder what its going to cost to pour 4 yds for my son.
Called the plant and they have a 4 yd minimum without extra fees. So 4 yd delivered is $770. Thats 4000 mix at $161 a yd plus fuel charge.
