I am addicted to trees and shrubs in my yard. Bought some more Japanese Maples and a conifer to add to the collection:

- Acer oliverianum 'Hot Blonde' Golden
- Acer palmatum 'Mikawa yatsubusa Seedling' Dwarf Japanese Maple
- Cupressus arizonica 'Blue Ice' Blue Arizona Cypress

Picked up two burn barrels for the camp. Very hard to find good ones in are area but was finally able to locate them.
Funny, theres a company near me that has 1000’s of plastic, metal and those large caged containers on the property. It seems like they could never find enough people to buy that many barrels

I love stuff that's packed in scrap metal. Keep us posted.
I used the MechMaxx today and it works great. They did leave one step out of instruction manual though. Installation is straightforward and I feel stupid in hindsight.
Thankfully I didn't have to cut the PTO shaft because it was a perfect fit. The included shaft has a slip clutch end that goes to stump grinder side. The tractor side was easy, simply line splines up and it has a spring loaded locking button that locks onto the detent groove. The clutch side I tried everything...it wouldn't go all the way on. I finally got a file thinking there must be a burr or something. That's when I noticed it was shipped with two bolts in it. Remove bolts, slide on, bolts back and tighten them.
There are two locking pins you remove and it allows grinder to "float". You start on right side of stump facing the back and I took it easy about 2"/pass. It digs 6" max so last pass was digging lots of dirt.
I'd highly recommend it for the money. I'll be glad when my camera comes because my neck sure is sore!

Does this move right and left while chewing up root? Or do you have to move tractor
My tractor is hydrostatic drive which it needs to be. It's really easy to use but a camera is a must. I'll probably fabricate something simple to help keep wood chips from occasionally flying up. Small clear tarp would work.

Couple of wheelbarrow handles to fix my wife’s wheelbarrow.
A Baumalight CP560. My 4820 is class 1. The CP560 pins are class 2, I hope I can find the right pins to make it work

Nope, she is pretty even tempered, seldom gets mad and never throws things.

Bought a car seat now that the new booster seat law passed…

Old law required booster seat until turned 8 or 4’ 9” in height.

The new law expands to age 16 if certain conditions not meant and a $490 fine.

The part of the new law banning front seat sitting up to age 16 was dropped.

I know we have adult Registered Nurses that probably have trouble with the 4’ 9” height requirement…

Looks like no more taking the kids for a ride in the antique cars.

But hey… if I buy a new or used car from a California dealer next year I will have 3 days to bring it back for any reason as long a no damage and less than 400 driven miles…

New toys? I bought a second Oster breadmaker. Now I have one at home and one out at the ranch. These are from the breadmaking fad 20 years ago, so cheap today at Goodwill. Average under $10. Near new condition. I've started several hobbies like this. For example a pair of security cameras (now critter cameras). Yeah I'm cheap.

I'm having fun learning to make bread using these breadmakers. After a couple of so-so loaves now I'm making better bread than store-bought.

I love being retired with time to try out things I've always been curious about, like welding. Four welders now, from flux to 230A stick. I tell my wife of course they're not toys! :)

The mech max stump grinder I bought a few months ago had a very similar incident hooking up the PTO shaft overlooked the bolts also had to cut about 2" off the PTO shaft it was to close for me being comfortable pressing the shaft to close to rear rear axle when lifting grinder especially using a rear hydraulic top link . Bought mine in the more appropriate orange color lol. I've used it a bit taking out Xmas tree stumps works great much better than accidentally hitting the stumps with my rotary cutter when cutting the overgrown Xmas tree rows plus it scloser to to the back of tractor than a 5' bush hog making it very maneuverable and no collateral damage to trees in getting in the actual rows, And much quicker than using my minix to pull out the stumps. Plus no hauling and looking for disposal means torching isn't the best neither is constantly piling them up in property line with excavated stumps. Took awhile using my gear drive l2850 to get somewhat competent using it. No rear camera and I can say hydrostatic drive would help. I could have spent quite a bit more and got the hydraulic cylinder on the grinder that moves it left right but then id either have to disconnect my rear hydraulic top link which I use to help with efficiency of using it, or buy a 4 port splitter to continue use both on the single rear remote. I'll definitely be using it with my hydrostatic tiny tractor taking out a few stumps up north. Definitely pleased with this mech max brand purchase at the price point, results, and so far problem free use.
