Fergie's in ICU

Without being a pain, see if you can get any further info from the dealer as to the factory determination of what caused the break... if they'll tell you.....

Glad you're back in business!

Most companies do not want to admit liability, possible manufacturing error, or assembly error on their part. If there is one bad incident, usually there are many more, because these items are built on an assembly line, and they do not want the public to find out about it, which might affect their sales.

Oh, perhaps I misinterpreted what you were asking. I didn't have to pay for the oil filter, oil, and antifreeze that they just put on, but no, they did not give me extras for the "upcoming oil change" in 49 hours. But hey, I didn't pay for the $7569.52 engine nor the 12.72????? hours of labor, so I'd say it's a win-win.
Only 12 hours of labor and less than $8K for engine? That's pretty good!

I read a story yesterday about a service tech that was working on a used $1M 2008 Bugatti Veyron that a customer brought in. The oil change takes 27 hours of labor and cost over $20K.

I'll stick with tractors. ;)

Of course there was antifreeze in the oil, the engine exploded. My guess is you’ll never hear what the cause of failure was. I took apart a small engine years ago that had a rod failure. The connecting rod bolts were almost worn completely smooth, most of the threads were missing.
