John Deere
I have noted that almost without fail a topic regarding a particular tractor will denote ONLY the numerical designation for that machine, such as MD2020. I bet that many here do not have such ID info ready to mind. Stating that the machine is in fact a "Cockapoo MD2020" or whatever may well help obtain help from those like myself who habitually just delete such - - - - thanks

Well, usually Google or tractordata.com solves that problem in about 3 seconds flat. But in the case of "MD2020", that seems to be a fortified wine known as, "Mad Dog 20/20".

First post and member since 2013...welcome to TBN Mr. Geoker...

I prefer posters give manufacturer and model, but the topic is frequently in the particular manufacturer sub forum, or specified in the op's about page.

I agree! When I begin reading a post and it only contains a number, i pass by and go on to a post with complete information.
I will not trouble myself having to look up the basic information required to reply with a cogent answer.

Do you mind if people seemingly deliberately misspell the tractor manufacturer's name? I see a lot of "Kabota" and "Kaboda" here...
(regardless of their express intention, it screams "embarassed to have a non-USA mfr tractor", sorry to say)

If the post starts with MD2020 and I don't know what that is, I'm probably of little help anyway. So I don't tear into that post.
lol... exactly. If you don't happen to recognize the model number or what brand it came from, then you aren't going to be very useful in answering a post unique to that specific machine, anyway! :p

Or if it's a case where they may have been able to offer useful generic advice, despite not even recognizing that machine, then I guess the make didn't really matter... did it? :ROFLMAO:

If you give a Cockapoo MD2020, he will get drunk off his lil' butt.

It's even worse when a manufacturer uses the same numbers for completely different kinds of tractors.... is that FARM TRACTOR JD2520 or the COMPACT TRACTOR JD2520?

Don't mind a bit, but it really helps when your browser has a spell-check feature; otherwise my posts would be hard to understand.

Yep, it is handy. I rarely go into specific forums although sometimes I do. Most of my reading is going to "New Posts". So seeing tractors and models in the title is helpful. Nonetheless, for a lot of things the exact tractor model/manufacturer is irrelevant.

If you ever want somebody to find your topic in the future, then giving as much accurate information as possible is handy. A 3pt is almost the same no matter the tractor, as is ROPS, etc.

Funny... a whole thread started over lack of tractor denotation/information and Geoker's avatar just lists "John Deere", How descriptive.

Good thing Deere only built a single model.
