after supper went out and put on more trex boards, I miscounted, will need another small box of clips. this morning I cut a piece of trex on the wrong side, cut out what was to be kept, going around a post, but should be able to salvage it by turning it the other direction for a post cutout on the other end.
Now to decide what to do about my TV antenna pole that is in the way, Put a hole in the deck and leave it there, or move it. I like the antenna there, as I can go out a window onto the back roof to work on the antenna wiring. Also should have made deck2 longer to not waste so much trex.

Can you raise it up and let it sit on the deck? On another piece of wood or decking?

Swim lessons went well but Opa is getting tired of picking up toys and noodles all over the pool area after the lesson is over 😉 Only 3 lessons left so I’m kind of happy about that😂
Sounds like Opa needs to add picking up toys and putting noodles away to the lessons.;)

That was what I came up with laying in bed last night. Will put blocking under the decking for support, sit another block on top for pole to sit on. Likely cut it shorter rather than raise it.

Morning all, 71 going to 79 and smoky, did get just enough rain last night to wet grass, not in the forecast. Forecast says it's sunny, but it certainly is not.
Got some more watering done yesterday and pulled more stiltgrass.
Put more water in the pool too.

2 yellow jacket nests quiet today after a few tries.
One big nest by Gazebo, but can't see where they are coming from.

Sorry to hear about your friend Kyle, prayers for the family

Pick up son at airport later, he went with GF and parents to Myrtle beach.

Maybe deal with some more stiltgrass if it dries enough.
Keep looking for YJ nest entrance and try not to get them riled up.

Be well,

78F and a mix of sun and clouds @ 11:45, heading up to around 83F for the day's high.

Got one more arb planted and watered in yesterday afternoon.

Took a break from arb planting to head inside and eat some 'kraut and sausage dumplings and wash the cat dishes out for The Woman.

After that I hauled the Water Buffalo around front to the little peach tree ... to atone for my pulling the cage off of it a while back with the intent of replacing it with a larger cage and then never doing so.

It took off after the last watering/feeding and had really bushed out. Deer came by on the first night it was uncovered I think and clipped it heavily ... 🤬

Gave it 12 gallons of water with Shultz's 20-20-20 fertilizer and then made up a larger cage with a 4' diameter by marrying 2 of the smaller ones together and stapling that down.

Went back to arb planting after that but didn't have enough light to get another one in the ground so I settled for getting enough screened compost and peat mixed up to fill the bottom of the hole so that the arb will be at or above grade when I stick it in there this afternoon.

Then moved the Cub and Kubota back over to the garden to keep the deer at bay.

Picked a couple more summer squash before coming inside and having a piece of blueberry pie with ice cream (saved the last piece for The Woman ... ;))

Remembered to get that one bill paid before midnight so it was on time.

Woman just reported that there was a doe and white spot fawn out by the forsythias ... fawn was suckling.

Apparently mama's juice is way better than those old hostas ...

She also mentioned She had a seen a hummingbird out at the feeder at the window over the kitchen sink a few days ago.

I had seen a hummer out at Her flowers a while back but hadn't seen any at the feeder ... so good to know that they found it.

Agenda for today:

Get the next arb in the ground.

Drill the hole for the last one.

Probably redrill a couple more planting holes for other stuff while I have the 2' auger on.

Once that's done I can swap the 2' auger out for a smaller one to drill post holes for the garden fence.

Grass is getting long and needs cut again but will need to run down to the corner and get another 5 gallons of gas for that.

Some more bills to schedule for payment.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Hump Day ... (y)

decided to change the fuel filters on the Zero Turn. Taking the battery out and disassemble from the top avoids getting dripped by diesel fuel. Good plan except discovered that I only had one filter on hand and it takes two. Installed the one I had and left one alone. Need to get more filters on the next trip to Kubota
