Sthil Commercial Line Trimmers with 4 Cycle engines (still require 50:1 fuel/oil mix) - any experience

I actually prefer the Autocut head on my Stihl over the Feed Speed I have on my Maruyama for two reasons. The Stihl holds more line and I like the larger diameter of the Stihl head. A lot less line flutter at low rpm’s as well in heavy brush. Feed speed is easier to string up but I have to more often.

Well I'm used to the Autocut on my Stihl KM110 as you load the two lines, then just push the lines through the slots and snap in place.

Interesting comments, how much line do you usually load into your Stihl heads ? I usually do about 12 feet but it definitely seems like a lot more line could easily fit.
The comment about line fluttering at low rpm’s with speed feed head is also interesting I don’t remember anyone ever mentioning that before.

The manual for my auto cut head says it should take 7m (23') of .105 line per strand but there's no way that much fits. I do about half of that.

I measure with my arms, I'm 6"2" so my arm span is close to that and I pull 4 arm span lengths off the spool each time so I'm putting about 24' of .105" line in my Stihl Head. My Speed feed I can fit about 15' of .095 in.

Weird that so much fits. Maybe it's because I'm using 0.105 Deere square line that it doesn't fit as well?

Yeah, Im sure different shape lines could affect that. Im running Echo Black Diamond in my Stihl and Rotary Vortex in my Maruyama so neither are round though.

I don't find any issue with the run time, I have both the two of the AK20 and five of the AK30 batteries I use them in a string trimmer and blower. I did not buy the AK20's they came with the tools, I much prefer the AK30 batteries. I can get anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on use. They do tend to run down about the time I am ready/need for a short break, usually when I am as far away from the other charged batteries as I can get.

As for cost of the batteries, I find them in line with other battery tools which are all costly.

John that is good to hear of the run times you are seeing. I will get a battery Powerhead and some batteries soon I am sure just to see how they work out. The good thing is with the Stilh Kombi system the attachments can be used on either. Since I do not golf i can use those funds to buy more tools than I truly need. (It must be a illness I have I bet golfing is less expensive)
