I’m all about having a beaterMonth or so ago bought a new to me 5 speed beater. To replace my old daily driver that made it's final trip Told my wife yrs ago when I bought it at a auction I was going to drive the wheels off that old car, after the front driver side wheel bearing blew completely apart fusing the bearings race to the cv axle. I literally did I guess. Lol still, car ran great so I was going to replace all four wheel bearings cuz the other three were starting to go, put a jack under the unibodies frame rail and it pushed up thru the floor boards not to mention extensive rust perforations throughout the sub frame. I think got my moneys worth on that junker. Hopefully I'll get the same with my new beater. So far so good and less rust presently.
For daily running around too. My 1999Diesel E300 has 287k miles, known as “Old Smokey” I joke that it’s just getting broken in. I’ve driven several cars up to the point of scrapping them.
