Push over trees with a small compact?

It's funny you mention the winch. I have a nice 7500# winch with 75 feet of cable on my logging trailer, and never even thought of using it for pulling trees. I always use an old-skool come-along to the base or stump of another tree.

Winch with a rope longer than tree height. A little tension while notching, then complete cut while reeling it in.

Tractors aren’t the immovable anchor points some apparently think they are.
Even if they were, often the mains issue is while pushing on a tree with a machine the tree snap in half, then fall on itself or the cut hinge let go, the bottom kick out and the tree fall on the equipment.

Learn how to chainsaw fall and use wedges to control the path.
This is how I do at least 95% of my felling. But I can remember at least two in the last ten years that were leaning so far the wrong way, or had to be steered around another tree on their way to the ground, where I used a winch and line to pull it over after making both cuts to form the hinge.
