Swarm #4 this week, showed up this afternoon. Different property where I've done two cutouts in the past. I knew this week would be epic... But wow

Yeah, we have several new queens, some laying, some just mating. We have 10 colonies now and expect two more to arrive in the coming weeks

Hard to sort out the depth of field there. So do you just screw the langsroth frame into the layens frame? And it looks like cut the bottom off the langsroth frames?

You cut the lang frames down to 12.125" long, from 19", then screw them in. The Layens frame is already much deeper than the lang.

Swarm #5 tonight. Safely in a small swarm box. We are up (6) colonies so far this year... Hoping for a couple more! Twelve total . I love retirement... But it's a lot of work

I don't recall ever seeing a swarm of bees in the wild...
