Yesterday I stopped in at a TYM dealer and the salesperson said the 574 could have up to 3 rear remote. 2 were standard. I said that sounded great so I could have tilt and turn and a hydraulic top link by getting the optional remote. He said that when a customer gets a backhoe one of the rear port sets is configured for power beyond and that it wouldn't work.

Was he correct? If configured for a backhoe, is one of the rear ports always either on/off and therefore couldn't be used for anything but like a wood chipper or stump grinder? So if getting the standard 2 sets of ports, would a operator not be able to use both chute rotation/deflection adjustments on a snow blower?

It seemed weird I hadn't heard of this before but he was very convinced that is how TYM machines have to be setup.

Thanks

I have a T574 with a backhoe. One of my remotes has a detent that is used for the backhoe. It seems to work perfectly fine for hydraulic cylinders too.

I've got three remotes on my Ford but when I use an attachment that needs two, I have to disconnect the one of the TnT cylinders--Usually the tilt. I bought a hydraulic solenoid diverter I plan to install when the weather warms up. It will allow me to use one valve to operate either the top cylinder or the tilt cylinder and still have two remotes available for my ditch flail mower.

I added one to my Kenbota when I got the grapple. It works great there too.

You can have as many 'remotes' as you want on any tractor, so long as it has a hydraulic pump, sufficient hydraulic fluid sump capacity and adequate flow. All comes down to plumbing and having the physical space and appropriate bracketry to add them as well as space in the operators station for the controls which can be mechanical or electric actuation.

That applies to all systems, power beyond, closed center or open center systems. The differences between them dictates the plumbing.

To clarify on my T574, The "B" remote has a detente that allows you to push the lever all the way forward and it stays there keeping pressure on that remote. This allows me to run the backhoe. I have hooked a normal hydraulic cylinder up to it and it works just. I have no idea what your salesperson is talking about.

Sounds to me like the drummer wants to sell him additional sets of probably expensive remotes as well as the labor to install them....

I know on my Kubota the additional sets are expensive if not factory installed which mine are and I have flow control on the top set as well. Ordered it that way when I bought it. In my case the tractor was built for me in Japan. Also got the 2 speed 540-1000 PTO, which I use when I run my grain auger, again factory installed.

Only thing I didn't get was front fenders and should have.

If you want more remotes, a much cheaper solution is a "hydraulic multiplier" from Summit Hydraulics. It basically multiplies the number of remotes but you can only use one at a time. For most applications it works very well.

I also had no idea and ultimately went with a different brand. He was 100% certain that with 3 rear hydraulic ports factory installed, it would only have 2 that could be used on the implement. He went down the rabbit hole of "well if you had a chipper on the back and there was a hydraulic feed you could use the power beyond for the chipper and one of the remotes for the feed. But no clue what the third feed would be used for."

That was the funny thing. I had said well can we set it up so all three are functional and he couldn't come up with a solution even with other parts at the dealership.

I guess he was a misinformed salesman and lost your business. It's just a valve stack. You get the third remote kit and it goes in the stack. Pick weather it has a detente or not.

Does anyone know if there is a parts bundle for adding another remote? I have a backhoe and I ordered a top and tilt so I need to add the third OEM remote. Dealer said it was 1200$. I'd like to shop around to see if I can find it cheaper but I'd rather not have to order each bolt separately.

Why do you *need 3 remotes? You can't use your top and tilt when the backhoe is connected. Just unplug one and plug the backhoe in.

It's not a need but a want. It's an option, so I want it. Also I have a ditch bank flail mower so I need a third remote if I want to still have the top link working while it is attached.

Also the ag fittings leak more than I'd like so I'd like to be able to leave the top and tilt plugged in as much as possible so the 3rd remote would help with that. Plus the fact there is a 3rd remote option means that they know some people will need/want it.

Any TYM dealer should be able to sell you the kit. The dealer can install it, or you can do it yourself. It's basically just another valve to go in the stack, longer bolts to put your new bigger stack together, and the lever/linkage to the cab for the new valve. You could also cheat and use a hydraulic multiplier with three sets of ports (or more if you want) leave your top and tilt plugged into that, activate them when you need to make an adjustment, and still have both remotes available whenever you need them. Another sly idea is to get the third remote and put a multiplier with two sets of ports off of it, giving you a dedicated top/tilt control lever with a button to swap between the two.

I ended up ordering it from a dealer with a reasonable price compared to what my dealer told me. I just wish I could figure out the kit part number clearly so I could google it.

try 12665084000.

Tractor Tyme, and Tony's Tractor Adventure have both done YouTube videos on the installation. I think Tony's is a bit better. It is the same for the 474 and 574.

Good to know. I see a video from Tony for aa T25. I assume its pretty much the same as a T574.

Similar but different. The transmission on the T25 is different, but happens to be the same as my venerable T233 and T293 tractors. And, having done the rear remote on my T233, I know they are not quite the same. Tony's T25 rear remote video did help with my T233 project. I have a second valve which I was going to use to put a second rear on my T233. But, I will probably install it on the T293 I just bought instead.

That reminds me. It's odd that they are painted black from the factory but when you buy them they are unpainted so it looks really bad. I hate painting but I will need to find a black paint when the part arrives

I know that I am resurrecting an old thread, but I have some valuable information to add on the subject.

1. On my T574, the top set of remotes, labeled "B" is for the backhoe. The lever in the cab has a detente to activate continuous flow for the backhoe.

2. When using this remote, the 3 point lift is not operable.

3. To get full flow to the backhoe, the 3 point arms must be lowered all the way, and the lowering speed control knob must be turned all the way to "fast".

4. You can hook up the backhoe with the 3 point arms still attached, but they cannot lower all the way as they are blocked by the sub frame. I believe this restricts the flow somewhat, but it is acceptable to me for most use cases. Eventually I will get a pressure gauge and find out for sure how much restriction there is.

It's irrelevant because the remotes are connected before the 3 pt valve. Also, the speed control knob, only affects the speed the 3pt lowers, nothing else in the hydraulic system. It will still let it raise at full speed and, when rotated all the way in, won't let the 3 pt drop.
