Hope daughter is ok m7040

As a diabetic I shoot for below 7 but need help to get there. Anything in sixes is a plus
Thank you Bubbies

Glad you are able manage your diabetes. So far I have managed it via diet and exercise but getting harder. Leaving out a lot of food groups from the diet

Morning all, 38 going to 39 and light rain. Ponds still look pretty empty around here, but it's nice to see the ground stay a bit wet.

Truck in shop to fix a leak and get new serpentine belt.

Tomorrow we leave for Long Island, my brothers house first and then off to a Friends daughters wedding.

Happy birthday to your son Wngsprd!

Mini buck and sister were back this morning, still lots of deer, but definitely fewer after hunting season. Still see carcasses on roads, but less so.

Back to the day job, be well,

Glad you found your wallet, Bruce, but sorry it was after you'd cancelled the CCs. Last one I lost showed up in the mail a week later, several hundred bux lighter and after I'd already canceled the CCs. Whoever sent it was still a thief in my book.
There is a chance that the person who returned it did NOT take the money.
When I was about 9 years old (1960) a friend and I found a ladies wallet under a bridge, in the snow, on a frozen creek. It had a drivers license and just the corner of a ?dollar bill.
I gave it to my Dad and he called the lady and she came to get it.
She insisted I had taken the money and said it had been a $10 bill.
Taught me not to turn stuff in.

Happy Birthday to wngsprd son. You all are not that far from me especially as crow flies IMG_1516.jpeg

There is a chance that the person who returned it did NOT take the money.
A number of years ago I found a wallet at the local mall in the men's rooms.
No money.
However all the CCs and personal info was there.
Checked the address and took it over as it wasn't that far out of my way.
Instead of a Thank You the guy insinuated I had taken the cash he claimed to be around $300.
Like I would have gone out of my way to return the wallet after stealing the money?
I lost/had my wallet lifted and knew what a pain in the a-- it was to get all the paperwork renewed.
If there is a next time I'm throwing it in the mail box.

I found 2 wallets as a kid.
First one I was able to hand back to the person as they lived around the block. They gave me $5 , even though I told them I did not expect it.
Second time, we took it to the police station and let them handle the process. They were very nice and I did not care to meet the person. That worked well as the wallet did not have any cash, only license and a credit card. Didn't really think the person would accuse me of taking the money, sad that it happens.
Who would take the cash and then go through the trouble of getting it back to the owner??

What I was thinking, someone could have taken money and left the wallet, and Someone else returned it

No snow at home yet.
Son hasn’t complained about any pain, and is only taking ibuprofen.
He hasn’t heard if his work will approve short term disability. He can’t use it at all for 6-8 weeks.

Good morning, the low is 39 and going to a high of 43°F. Wind NNE 11 gusting to 21 mph. 40% chance of showers and it is raining right now, so I would hazard a wag that the rain probability is 100%.

wngsprd, your son is half way up the dragons tooth on the right side.

21 is pretty old for a cat. Give Hospice a between the ears rub for me.

i am taking " ATORVASTATIN-40" for something or another and one of the side effects of it is diabetes. So the quack ordered me to take "METFORMIN' to counter act the statin side effects. Don't make sense to me. This is one of the reason I hate quacks. They get you hooked on one drug, but it has side effects so put you on another drug to counteract the sides of the first drug, but it has side effects so another drug. Pretty soon you are a walking drug store and no farther ahead to getting your problems solved. The only problem that is getting solved is the quacks payments for his/her yacht.
I go to the vampire on the 27th, one of the things they will be checking is the A1C. Quack appointment on the 4th.

Back down the rabbit hole.

Have a safe day all

I lost my wallet up north the first season I worked up there. Just company credit cards and my license and birth certificate (wallet sized). I called the OPP to report it lost, the cop asked me to spell my middle name, (it is unique) I did. He told me he had my wallet but alas there was no money in it. I told him that is because I ALWAYS carry my money in my right front pocket. He told me when I went to pick it up that a 'little old lady' turned it in. He asked me if I wanted her name and address, I told him 'no' but here is 50 bux for her trouble, 2 twenties and a ten. If he skimmed the ten off for himself and only gave her 40 it didn't matter to me.
IF I ever find a wallet, I will go through it looking for a DL and toss it into the mail with no return address.
The War Amps has a key return service, where if you make a donation to them (they run entirely on donations) they send you a key tag, you put that tag on your keys. If they are ever lost the finder just has to toss them in a mail box and the war amps pays the postage both ways and returns your keys to you. They used to be only for war amputees
but have since spread out to include all amputees, especially kids.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 6:45AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 57F. Winds SE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Localized flooding is possible.
3.6" of rain fell here yesterday, with another 0.8" since midnight. Rain in the 10-day every day until Wednesday. Hope some of it makes its way east where it'll do some good. So far this storm system as been pretty gentle, but the wind is picking up today. Just heard a crash on the back porch.

Thanks for the insights, Paul. I haven't spent enough time in the attic to know if the water pipes are up there, or if they're buried in the slab foundation, and I have no idea what temperature the gas water heater is set to. But I can find out once I get back down there. I do know that in summer, the cold water can initially run pretty hot, and in the winter run pretty cold, leading me to think that the pipes are in the attic. I also don't know what the topology of the plumbing looks like, star or loop. I'm not opposed to modifying it if it makes sense to do so. I'll chase down more info on the Grundfoes equipment, as a single source of equipment could lead to less finger pointing if something doesn't work properly.

I did get the gutters unplugged during a lighter bit of rain yesterday. Gosh, that water was cold!

Traced more wires yesterday, now need to figure out the 3 and 4 way wiring.

TGIF gang!

GM does not offer Supercruise on any model with the new straight six small diesel, the one I wanted since it gets 27mpg on the highway.
Sorry, but even the idea of "hands free driving" scares the sheet out me. There's no way I'd let that take control of my car/truck!!!

Please explain why you'd want that...

Poor little hospice is in his final days and eating less and less so I woke up to blend some tuna for him. As you might remember he was my mom's cat that we adopted after she died, he is 21years old now. His vet visit last week was probably his last. But he is a fighter and the antibiotic injection seemed to do some good, he had a sore in his mouth. He is getting lots of loving and does not appear to be in any pain, but we have some pain meds if he looks like he is uncomfortable.
Sorry to hear that. Pets/animals are experts at hiding pain. The last week for my 13yo lab, he was plugged up and didn't have a BM. He was full of tumors. Never whined or gave any other indication of a problem.

If the "super cruise" or similar would work on unpaved or rural roads with no painted lines I certainly be interested in it. Sure would slow down my wifes complaints when we are going some place and I veer just about out of what she thinks is my lane. A man's got to check out fields and such, how straight and even are the furrows or windrows, is that a newer piece of equipment, is he stuck or broke down, does it look like it's sprouting or are the weeds coming in fast, so many reasons for me to take my eyes of the roads.

You do have a choice of a plant based diet so you don’t have to take the statin and stop the drugstore effect. It’s all on you not the “quack”.

61°F and .33 inches rain.

Success at the DMV. Even better a pleasant experience. They have an appointment system now. Signed into kiosks down and it was my turn, even though 10 minutes early.

So close, but the gals overtook us the last hand.

Off to Kona and Costco this morning. Hopefully not too bad.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
