Help!!

I had my JD dealer come get my 4100 to get a transmission heater and engine heater put on. When he brought it back I wasnt home, now I cant find the plug in for the engine heater. I found the transmission plug in, so wheres the engine plug in, or is it the same? Thanks

I wouldn't know about this heater stuff, like Harv had mentioned, it never gets cold enough to worry about that kinda stuff here. The cords that come with the Ford trucks to plug the diesels in, they just rot off. They never get used. I'm not even sure what or where it heats. Now,tell me, what do you know about the 4710. Wish they had some info on it. I'm just days from getting a Kubota L48 TL. I'll bet the 4710 ends up costing more or the same as a L48 TL. If the M4900 had HST, that would do it for me since even with a 5 cylinder diesel it costs less then the L48 TL. Rat...

Plower,
On my 4600 it's on the left side under the engine molding if you're sitting in the tractor. Look way up under the molding. When I got mine that's where it was. It was wrapped up with a twist tie and not hanging down.

I will have to look on thursday of next week since it isnt at my old house I will have to wait until we move. I couldnt see it I expected it to hang down like rat said, like on my Dodge Diesel. Plower - just looked at my 4700 - cord is hanging down like one would expect (left side) but runs up the side of the block to a fitting just below the exhaust manifold about mid point on the side of the engine.

On my 4300, there are two separate plugs. One is visible hanging just under the left cowling, the other is a bit more forward and you have to kneel down and look up to see it. This is from memory.. I just peeked to make sure they had installed them as they promised. If you need more detail, post back and I'll look closer.

oops.. my memory failed me big time.

The engine heater is on the left about where I said, just hanging out slightly under the cowl. The trans heater, otoh, is back near the rear tire, way up under the tractor. It's hard to spot.
