Need to look over the service record for the mower and get it ready for the season. I checked on a new mower with same HP and 72 inch deck ZD1611 and found it is listed at 25K. All the sudden I love my mower a lot more and with the air suspension seat modification it is likely also more comfortable than a new mower.

49 going to 64. Rain has stopped, yahoo.

BEF, glad you're outside and getting back to normal.

Don, looks like a great cruise...I figured that's where you were. I played laser tag in an arena with my sons for a few years when they were into it...lots of fun. Good book?

Sodamo, sounds like you'll be opening a cafe soon. Glad you're having fun with that espresso machine. I made a mocha yesterday.

m70, hope things work out for your son. Prayers for him and Kyle's son.

Took the trash and recyclables to the collection center yesterday, and of course had to stop at the park to hike to the river. Put extra weight in my pack...planning a trip soon.

Morning all, 42 to 49 and rain.
Yesterday paperwork and errands after day job.

M7040 - glad your son called in to home base.

Kyle - glad son is recovering

Paul - no bounce testing for pulleys

Be well,

Good morning! 54˚F heading to the upper 80s clear skies unusual West wind.
No excitement on cruise or trip there and back. It was a short cruise just 4 days but got us out and about without a plane ride. My wife feels the same about planes as Drew does.

Coming back to the terminal we had to go though immigration we had to go through facial recognition stations. We were recognized. There are no more claim papers to fill out or passport check stations, a very quick process.

Mostly the lasser tag shootout was with guns that keep score and also need time to put back your shield. You never get out only accumulate points. The gun is attached to your front and back plate that records hits. The hardware you wear has either purple or green lights, I was purple and the greens had to be eliminated.

Wngsprd, the book was entertaining but a little too unbelievable on how Reacher could figure out the obstacles he came across, but did make for a good read.

No rain or freeze while we were gone, there are 13 potatoe plants up, every day a few more should be breaching the surface. Should be a total of 64 plants soon. organic potatoes are selling for $5 a LB. at the grocery store I hope to harvest $500 worth.

Won 3 of 5 games at cards last night. FireWise will be missed this morning because of PT. Good news, the insurance co approved my MRI so I will be imaging later today to get ready for my Dr. Appointment Friday.

May be some rain Thursday so I need to get the fertilizer out on the yard grass, can't let the neighbors professional companies lawns look greener than mine.

KYLE great news your son is healing sounds like the inflammation is subsiding.

Good Morning
42° and raining, high in the upper 40’s.

Yesterday was more of a catchup day than anything else. I did get the speakers out the door and on their way to their new homes on the west coast, WA and CA to be specific. Never got to the spindles, but I won’t be mowing for at least a month or two.

Today I’m headed back to Pontiac to pickup the people I dropped off Saturday. Looks like wind is out of the East there today, maybe we’ll fly over Ron. Going to try to squeeze in breakfast with the professor before that, not sure if that will work, but I gotta get moving.

45° and .31” rain so far.
Did sons taxes last night. he’s bummed he has to pay a little.
Was good to get outside yesterday.
Good to see Don back in port.
When I was in rehab hospital had a roommate that decided to leave against the recommendation of the staff, but nothing they could do.
mpham I had sweats when sick.
Today will probably help other son recover and transfer pics to new computer. Apparently win11 does not work well for importing pics from iPhone, so glad I didn’t upgrade.
My family switched to photon email service, with end to end encryption. Trying to get away from google snooping on everything.

Good morning, the low is 48 and so the high will be. Wind W 7 mph. Periods of rain and possible T-storms.

IF I wax the Dodge it will be in the S-L garage, so I will stay dry. The plug relocation is a want, not a need. That can wait until a dryer day.

The weather guessers are talking about 1/2" of snow tonight.

I haven't seen too many animals that 'like' going to the vet.
My cats are pretty docile until you put them in a carrier to go to the vets' Then watch the fireworks begin. Giving them a treat (tinned salmon/tuna) doesn't work, as soon as they get out of the carrier at home I don't see them for 2 days and the other three eat the treat.

My furnace oil supplier shorted me a bunch of oil yesterday. 200 gallon tank was at the 1/4 mark. It should have taken 158 gallons, instead he only pumped 104 gallons and when I looked at the gauge the tank was a bit over 3/4 full. Paid $6.16/US Gal. I have a call into the supplier asking if the driver ran out of product in the truck. THAT is the only reason/excuse I will accept for shorting me on fuel. If he can't be trusted to fill my tank, then what else can't he be trusted to do? I order and it is a standing order Winter fuel only. I don't use enough fuel in summer to justify burning #2 diesel in the summer. I will either get it sorted or I will change suppliers.

That is enough of my whimpering for today.

Stay safe all

My son is healing exponentially fast.
That is such great news and we hope he keeps it up!! :D

39F going to 49F at our ranch here in Formerly-Great California. Yesterday we drove over I-80 Donner Summit through the tail end of the Blizzard.

We first tried to get to CA via Carson City and Hwy 50. But got turned around-- Highway closed due to whiteout conditions/zero visibility.

By luck and chance, I-80 then opened up. Conditions were still poor, so it was open to passenger vehicles but not trucks. Away we went.

The East side of I-80/Donner Summit was in very good condition-- easily transited for any vehicle. The West side was a sloppy frozen mess. I-80 is either 2 or 3 lanes, plus wide shoulders left and right. Similar to a 4 or 5-lane freeway. For many miles it was down to only a single lane with snow piled on both sides.

After we got through, CalTrans opened it to large trucks. Then the traffic carnage began. At other times, I've sat on that Interstate for 12 hours trying to get through and I would bet a lot of others did that yesterday. So we got lucky on the timing.

The Blizzard caught us up to 100% of normal for the snowpack and 199% of normal for water content. That is very good for next summer.

The highest recorded wind gust in the Blizzard was 189mph at one of the ski resorts ...

Hope everyone has a very very good day today !!!

I had the gas company give me 1.4gallons of Propane last month.
The truck ran out. I made sure they didn't double charge me for fees, they didn't.
They came back a few days later to fill up.

Bill, you'd think at six bucks a gallon they'd be at your door every day...

I still have about three hundred bucks left on acct, one more fill up will wipe that out.
it's really sad to think that the little fuel oil tank in my basement holds 1000 dollars worth of heating oil.

rains, it stops, starts raining again.
have to go to Verizon at 10 when they open to get the new mifi to work. Never stops loading.
guy said, oh bring it in, we can fix that easily.
which clearly begs the question of why they didn't check it going out the door...
I did test my other mifi, the annual contract Tmobile one and it works fine.

found no takers in family for my new Ipad so decided to keep it and use it as an additional navigation screen.
feels like a giant phone. Not light like my Kindle but fairly heavy. Maybe I can use it to watch a movie in bed in rv.
I prefer to use my larger laptop for most things.
I've never had a tv in my bedroom, have always fell asleep reading a book.

also need to stop at supermarket and get some trip food. Don't need much for this short trip.
on the way out will check freezer in rv and make sure it's cold. Usually only takes a few hours.

Frits, glad your son is safe and getting help.
that was quite a shoehorn you did on that ZT seat. Looks comfy.

Not knowing the shape of your tank and how linear the fill would be I am not surprised at 3/4 of 200 gallon tank only taking 104 gallons.
I don't know about Canada but here all tanks have to have a whistle in the vent line, that extends down 3-4 inches in the tank, they stop filling when the whistle stops to allow a head space in the tank. That head space could be 10-15 gallons easily.
Then fuel oil foams up while filling and the foam stops the whistle just like liquid fuel does.
So it is quite likely that if he stopped filling when the whistle stopped and then the foam dissipated before you checked the tank gauge.
Also if he was directly filling the tank through a 2" port with an auto shutoff nozzle it would have shutoff with several inches of head space just like your car does at a fuel station.

I've always wanted to drive thru there. Was close one year when I had to go to Sacramento for work. I have looked at that area a lot on google maps, especially following the train tracks.

If you get the chance, take Amtrak between Sacramento and Reno sometime. Preferably in Spring or Fall when snow is on the ground. Beautiful scenery except transiting through downtown Sacramento.

Because I have a pump in the fill port, the driver takes the whistle out and fills the tank according to his eyeball or the gauge. All of the drivers always fill this way. All of the time with the exception of this time my tank has been full when they leave according to the gauge. There is a step ladder near the tank and they can move it to where they are comfortable filling the tank. I move the ladder in winter time so I can plow closer to the tank. Summer time the ladder stays against the tank. Got a call this morning from the owner of the company and he will have the crew that is working about a mile from me drop by and dip the tank. The tank right now is at the level it should be in June, meaning that in June it will only be about 1/2 full. NOT acceptable! I want it at least 3/4 full going into summer. Condensation is water, which being heavier than oil will fall to the bottom of the tank where it will start to rot out the tank. I don't need a rotten oil tank going into my retirement years.
It is a 238 US gallon tank. Vertical with a rounded bottom and top about 6' long. The line going into the house comes off the bottom, which helps to burn off the water mixed with the oil. The furnace doesn't care about a little water in the fuel, but my Kioti does care.

Your lucky, many fuel delivery companies around here would not fill your tank. They will not touch a ladder. And an auto shutoff nozzle will not fill a tank full without playing around, and they would just walk away from someone being that fussy about the tank fill.
