I’m song leader today at worship. My youngest son likes to pick the songs, course our minister requested 2 of them.
Costco was a worse zoo yesterday than the day before, but I only went to tire shop and got the long debated battery. Got it installed as soon as I got home, tractor fired right up, but was dark by then. Did get grease on my best jeans, but wife used something and got it out. At least I don’t see it after they were washed.
Did fire up pellet stove last night. Only burned 2 bags so far this season.
Calling for lots of rain Tuesday.
Cats like to use their side of the stairs.

Good Morning.
33 and just the hint of frost on the ground when I went out with Zoe this morning. Not a cloud in the sky, high in the 50’s today. Very similar to yesterday, except that it was windy yesterday with gusts in the 30’s.

Spent most of yesterday helping my friend’s son clean out his hangar now that his plane is sold. There is an incredible amount of stuff in there, and it’s almost all really good stuff. We were trying to sort it out and find good homes for things, what things he should list on eBay and what should be tossed (smallest category by far). But the goal is to have it emptied by the end of the month. I brought home more stuff than I should have, but I think I will either use it or know someone that will.

Friday I went and checked the progress on my little plane, it’s moving along well, but looks like a bomb went off in it.

Here’s the picture that I forgot to attach-

There is a aluminum overlay that goes over that mess that’s powder coated grey and the majority of the new equipment is all wired and being tested on the bench, so while it actually is well along the way, it sure doesn’t look it!

is this an upgrade for the instruments or replacement?

Both.
It’s getting a GPS with a much larger color display and WAAS accuracy that will provide vertical guidance and precision approaches. It’s also getting upgraded audio with Bluetooth capability, and multifunction display with solid state AHRS to replace pneumatically powered spinning gyros.

It doesn't say so but there's some very thick fog here right now. I did report it.

I need to mow some grass but with the fog and humidity, it will be too wet. All summer it's been hot and dry. My last mow was back in February, I think. Could be another wet and cold winter this year. I'll be working in the shop today.

Good morning! 52˚F, S breeze heading to the mid 60s, 25% chance of rain with cloudy skies.

My wife's 2nd cousin came for a visit yesterday. Her husband is a licensed ham radio operator and he of course has a car ham radio. I found the radio call numbers for the neighborhood Ham Radio Operator's Club (because we have a club for every thing here) and to my surprise a club member answered him and invited me to join the cub and would help me get a operator's license. Seems like a neat hobby. Now I have a lot of questions about ham radios.

This probably should be a separate thread but are there any ham radio operators on TBN, or do you know any licensed operators? His network of radio operators sounded like our morning thread here. I saw that our neighborhood radio club has a radio "fox hunt" once a month and other activities.
I let my license lapse years ago, once my favorite repeated went off the air permanently, i sortakinda lost ambition with it. The repeater was on top of Tower 2.

I still have my gear, just haven’t used it in years…

When we first got to the US we went everywhere not knowing much about the racial issues at the time. Remember going to a night club in the Watts district of LA, Compton I think. We were the only white people there. Wife was a looker with blonde hair and blue eyes. We were treated well however friends were horrified of what we had done
Reminds me of my first day in Cleveland, Ohio in 1976. Moved to Euclid, Ohio from San Antonio, Texas. Driving into work down Euclid Avenue was about the same as driving on Military Hiway. Folks were just a little darker. I was never treated bad. Perhaps it's the way you present yourself.

it was interesting seeing a few small boats go back in that inlet, one second there, next second gone around some tight turn, like the land sucked them up.

that boat has decent seats. why that guy wants to hang his leg over the rail, which makes about as much sense as folks who hang their legs out car windows. I don't know about his anatomy, but I think those boat seats would be a lot better... maybe that's a new look? like the trucks with their front ends up in the air?

speaking of trucks, oh do the Florida boys like their big wheels. Gigantic tires and rims sticking far out from the body, illegal up North but I guess pretty norm here. Doesn't that wreck your wheel bearings? Can't believe those tires are wearing normally either.
their version of rolling art
apparently florida doesn't have car inspections.

there was not one person of color at the restaurant last night on the West Coast of Florida. I found that very interesting. Hispanic wait staff. Bar had a funky somewhat redneck vibe. It was great and that local mullet fish sandwich was good. I thought a mullet was a hair do.
apparently it's a fish too. Firm, a little sweet, has some flavor vs bland. The second taco will be my lunch today with some Kelchner's cocktail sauce added. My friend was not impressed with his mullet.
perhaps he thinks it's one step up from bait fish...

but when I looked around while we left just to check out the full house, the social implications struck me. Nothing bad, just observing.

have plenty of time this morning, will leave after 9. Makes zero sense being out there in commuter traffic unless I need to be.
What wrecks wheel bearings/bushings/ball joints/etc is having big wheels that DO NOT stick out far enough, and thus contact the frame when turning. Especially big, knobby tires contacting the frame while turning…
