Importing and modifying a new mini excavator from China

/ Importing and modifying a new mini excavator from China #761
Glad to hear that it's a simple adjustment. That said... How does one go about adjusting the relief pressure? Is it going to be on the hydraulic pump? if not, then whereabouts should I look for it? and what does it look like?

Many thanks in advance.

You might have air in your hydraulic lines. Try running one after the other hydraulic cylinder to full travel when not doing any actual work.

You really should go to the beginning and read this thread and watch my vids. You can use the search function on TBN for this thread to find what you are looking for if you don't want to scroll thru my posts and pix.

Note that if you have servo controls, the pix of the RV are posted with the Diggit EM15 photos.

I would like to report more on the mini I purchased, but getting fittings to install the hydraulic filter from Discount Hydraulic Hpose has been an abysmal experience. Just ordered from Hydraulics Direct. Hopefully this order goes better.

I recommended Surplus Center above. The Zinga AE10 filter and Prince filter support are about $20 now, plus shipping.

Welding in a bung on the tank seemed easier that routing hoses and making a support for the filter fully inside the house.

I actually got the filter from Rural King. Box said it was a DeLavan brand, but the filter was a Zinga. Everything else I needed i got from Surplus Center.

I ordered the adapters this afternoon from Hydraulics Direct, they have already shipped and will be here Wednesday.

Discount Hydraulic Hose actually did something timely. My order was cancelled within 30 minutes of requesting a cancellation.

So how is everyone getting 25mm pins? Hex Head Style?

My JF Industrial has Oval Headed Greasable Pins, The Skeleton Buck I purchased has the 32mm Hex Head Indent.

I am getting $12.50/ Pin quotes, But $100 Shipping Quotes. Just wanting to go local for a Bolt or Cat II Hitch Pin

Hard to imagine that some folks have already worn out some pins, which are usually backed up by plain bearing inserts that will likely wear out first.

That said, I ordered spares when I got my machine, for a couple $ each. Rhino uses a fabricated pin with threads, not a regular bolt. Other makers seem to use a bolt, or different type of fabricated pin.

In the US or Canada, you can buy 25mm or 63/64 mild steel rod. For pins, I prefer mild steel, which seem to hold up well if greased.

If you would describe how you intend to install the filter and the hydraulic hose plus adapters you are using I would appreciated the information. All too often people just say they bought what they needed without giving the actual parts used.

Sorry for any misunderstanding, My Pins aren't worn out, they don't have the correct Heads for my New Bucket.

My Pins have an Oval Head, the Skeleton Bucket has Hex Head Bosses molded into it.

Maybe a Cat 2 Pin would work Temporary,(not greasable but 25mm) wondering if anyone has tried one?

OK, I see.

The main bucket pivot pins on all the 1-ton-ish machines I have seen are greased thru the tubing, not the pins. So a plain pin is fine, but you will still need to weld something on one end to keep it from spinning, and on the other end to keep it from falling out. Or an oval plate on one end with a retainer bolt.

@MattB4 - I can make a list of what I used, if I can ever get all the fittings and actually hook up the filter . Seems I have another back order to deal with

That Diggit is a good looking unit, haven't seen many of them at Canadian Sales yet.

I would really like to know Who builds What ever North American Named unit

Agrotk
Diggit
Rhinoceros
JF/FF/MM

And so on.

I realize similarities between my Brand JF Industrial and Agrotk, but not the Original Manufacture.
I just heard Sunward manufactures agro. They have a fine machine swe26uf rivaling the big boys imo.
Doubt they do the others. I just grabbed a Diggit em15 today at local auction - trying to find information about them, and AGT has almost all searches routing to results for the cheaper Agt's. Shrewd.

The diggit is very much the same as Nuoman and several others on aliexpres I was just considering import of. They are usually 3000lbs though. . . This may not be that heavy though (as dfkrug said). Can't find the diggit name or website anywhere to get any specs at all lol. Good news I guess is the auction total of 6100 was less than import cost for similar, but now have to try to get all the attachments I want lol.

Definitely won't be the 2t machine with yanmar and piston pump I was pricing for import also (xcmg and leking), but saved plenty of coin and time, hopefully!

Will do a review on the machine then. Also if anyone is interested I've collected a bunch of info and some pricing for a few 1.5 to 2t models I was considering from aliexpress. Bout 40 hours of chats oy vey. And some import contacts. Perhaps put it all on google drive or something?

Prob still considering import of like 2k in attachments if they'll still give the good prices out.
Anyone do import of a one or several attachments for these machines?

There's dealers selling attachments.
Google, Dirt Pro

I just Googled myself and came up empty. He is on a FaceBook group of Chinese excavator owners/sellers and is legit.
I will try to get better contact info.

There is one I found from ebay with average of 100% markup (over LTL door to door shipping and duty total) for the 8 attachments I was considering. Found his location and called. Perhaps work a deal, kinda doubt it. Located midwest.

Currently trying to change direction with the one manufacturer I feel bad I aint buying a machine from them for all the time she spent. But then again, if they learned to be a little more efficient with specs and options etc. . . .

So if anyone wants something not too expensive by way of parts or attachments LMK, PM I guess? I'd buy up front with some agreement about shipping then. I'm in PA.

Yes sir Timber, let us know. Like 50% markup might be more palatable (than 100%avg) considering import time.

Here's literally all i could find on 'diggit em50' from the interwebs, other than hits to this thread. No website, literally no diggit on alibaba, no sellers on ebay except a reseller from these auctions. Mystery.

All pins on my machine have the same hex head pin with zirc and threads/nut on other side. Buy one or a couple from alibaba? Airmail shouldnt take long.
Otherwise a cheap die grinder with decent rotary burr could hog out enough - would be a pain though.

He is in TX.
FaceBook Group you can find him in is "Chinese Excavator Owners". I haven't seen one complaint about him. Everybody in the group who does business with him has been happy.

I have not used Aliexpress. I wonder if it works the same as Alibaba. Have you used both?

Yeah, you can sure spend a lot of time communicating with many sellers on these sites (and MadeInChina.com). Even 5 1/2 years ago, I had to narrow down my queries to 3-4 sellers to avoid info overload.

Have you seen the FB group TIMBER mentions? I would take a look if I could get back on FB. I have tried without success, since I want to use MktPlace.

Last weekend there was an equipment auction near me. They had several China made mini X machines, Some with gas motors, A few more 2.5/3 ton diesels. The smaller ones sold for something like 4K and the larger ones were in the mid teens.. Pretty cheap IMO.. I sat in the "bigger" one... I couldn't spend more than 15 minutes working in it.. The floor space was crazy tight.
