Worked on the mower to clean it off and sharpen blades. One blade did not pass the test for run out and was scrapped.

Got out of Costco less than $700.

Wow, guess I can’t complain about $250 on a few things.
I did get another timber ridge reclining chair for the porch. And splurged on a rotisserie chicken for supper
After a mission run for lunch.
Did consider a $350 portable AC heat pump unit to use at dad’s. No AC there and I sleep upstairs where it gets hot.

Not much else happening here today.

When a kid, pre High School, my parents bought a lake lot that previous owner had already installed sonotube type concrete posts. Lot was about hour drive so somewhat inconvenient. My Dad designed the cottage based on using 4x8 plywood, 36x24 as I recall. During the week he (with our help) would precut all the structural members, load onto the pickup, and drive them up early Sat morning and we would assemble. No electricity and no generator.

My lot is 4 hrs away.
I’m thinking 12x 16 ft shed to start with. Think I can go 12x20 without permit.
Make floor in 3 sections, 4 x16 each, so 2 sheets plywood screwed to 3 4x4x16 runners, with overlap at middle edges. I think I can pull those off trailer and manhandle into place. If not, put BX on trailer and load them on edge, and use BX to move them.
Walls would be 12. 4x8 panels, a sheet of painted siding with 4 studs. 2 people can carry and place those, screw together on sides. One panel for man door. One gable end would be framed for 10x8 overhead door. One thing I have to consider is BX Rops is about 8ft high, I have almost hit my barn door already when it wasn’t quite all the way open. I wrote a warning on the key chain.
Not sure about roof yet

A lot of time and work, will take all summer.

First I need a flat area with gravel down. pretty flat where this pic is taken from.

Have you given thought to a 20' Sea Can for the lot? Probably more money than what you could build your own shed for but more secure.

Yes I have. If you followed Woodchuckdad’s build down that way, he got a really nice one delivered to him from Baltimore. Brand new.

nice sharpening equipment for sure.
knives, blades, scissors, you could set up a little sign.
it's the chain saw blades folks want sharpened for less than the job is honestly worth today.
It's been my experience that any sharpener on an automatic setting grinds off a lot more metal that I would
manually.

my blades have a slight bit more "patina"...
but fully support if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well.
I admit to being edge -centric and not forcing the oem angle of cut on a used blade.

1/16 flat edge?
shouldn't have to be so thick if the metal is harder, which may be the point here.
this looks a lot less than 1/16th
anyone with good eyes want to guess what these hardened blade edges are measured at?
I could run my finger over the edge easily without worry of being cut.

but rev that up and getting it up to full rpm and I want to go mow a big fat pine cone.

so I'll wait a month or so until current blades have some wear on them
