RNG - also check ground is connected to a real ground for lights, could be differential voltage? Those smart switches can be finicky.

Drew-thanks for the offer but I need something to live here for a while and the ground I mow, well you've seen it, is in little patches through trees between each. Which is why my simplicity deck is so battered. That and the occasional rocks that pop up after heavy rainfalls.
Hopefully the old deck and the newer deck combined parts will work.
Will find out after work today.
If you need to, you can borrow my Gravely for a couple weeks and I can deliver it tomorrow. It does not have the smoothest cut but fresh blades.
You may not mow rocks with it. I'm not allowed either. will talk later

Drew pretty pics.
I’ve been taking more breaks than my wife, she’s been planting flowers. When I sit on the porch, I get cold from the breeze. When I work I get warm.
I went down to look at my roses. Not sure what kind, they grow more like a vine. Smell good. I planted them between my row of forsythia down along the woods.

Trees have come up in them.
I cleared multiflora roses and another junk bush out of my big lilac. Another load to the woods where it gets dumped in the old mill race.

I did get wire off the one fence section

62F, sunny ... but with a chill breeze out of the north @ 14:15, that is supposedly going to be the high for the day ...

Low this morning was 46.4F.

A Frost Advisory has been issued through 08:00 Thursday, with a low 34F predicted.

Better weather tomorrow, calling for a high of 76F.

Slow getting rolling today.

Ventured out late last night and checked live trap to see if any customers. There were none but I did see a pair of glowing eyes staring at me from further down in the yard.

Need to check and refill the mealworm feeder. Might take a peek inside Nest Box No. 3 and see how the baby bluebirds are doing.

Need to locate a particular fitting in order to connect a garden hose to the Water Buffalo so it can be filled.

Also need to get washer info and see if locate a new water level switch.

Probably finish up the mowing on the west side of the house.

Will definitely be bundled up.

Otherwise probably make an effort to get various plants covered up for the impending frost tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday ... (y)

Drew and Dennis thanks for sharing your pictures.

A beautiful, sunny, and brisk afternoon with 25mph wind gusts recorded which is pretty decent considering my personal weather station's relatively sheltered location. It was a pretty drive along the backroads to get fuel for the string trimmer. Plan for tonight- dinner at a really nice Irish restaurant. Plan for tomorrow- an early morning run down to the "Big City" for supplies and some weed whacking later.

Went to town and got a new battery cable made and installed it. Also installed protective shield around it more for abrasive resistance. Mower is back in service and ready to go. Will mow little more now it is back together.

Partly cloudy day with grand high of 48F,last 2 days winds 15-35mph from the north, mid 20's over night good chance bird bath will make ice.

Short work day afterwards 2 stops for critter food, this afternoon took walk about check game cams, lot branches limbs on the ground which I'll clean Thursday wind should die down than.

Not much plan for the evening...BBQ some meat on grill and feet up out the front door before the rises.

Enjoy your evening all.

decided not to be lazy and went out and covered most of the veggies.
Hope it all doesn't blow off in a nighttime gust.
6am tomorrow morning is going to be nippier than any one of them is happy with, except
the radishes. I think this will be adequate for a forecast of 39.
and around noon tomorrow I am removing it all except over the strawberries.
I need something bird proof. This stuff will do, maybe a canopy over top of the strawberry area.
Gets exciting when a bird gets stuck inside your net.

because of several local trips where I faithfully used my adaptive cruise whenever possible, with an occasional
heavier foot override from me, car reports an improvement in my mpg.
Set at about 5 car lengths behind in a line of cars going maybe 40 on average.
Sure helped mpg as my average went up from 22.1 to what you see on the screen.

but that isn't the issue, so much as the comparison to the numbers I saw on the dash of Popgadget's Prius.
He has the larger Prius wagon and his mileage is more than double mine.
Seriously impressive for a comfortable car and one I did not wack my head on at all getting in due, so impressive headroom.
Nobody does hybrid better than Toyota.

What I really want is the plug in version of my compact Volvo suv. 40 mile EV range would be great for me.
Plus, coupled with the largest powerplant in the model now, with battery boost it's got huge horsepower and acceleration.
Hmmmm.
I need to wait another two years before it depreciates enough for me.
Until now the Volvo ortho seat is a huge help to me. Driving the rv today reminded me how awful those Ford commercial seats are.
Maybe Santa will bring me a nice rv driver's seat from Recaro. Actually with a lower back pillow in place, it's worked, but the seat
had my back hurting in half an hour today. You start to squirm.

hope you all have a nice evening.
