Its tick season here and we've already found deer ticks on the dogs. (yes, they are treated) So I'm treating our trail working pants with Sawyer brand Permethrin insect repellent for clothing. The stuff works. Ask if you like more details.

Ticks have been out about a month in Middle Tennessee. I've seen 6 snakes so far. Kills my enthusiasm for doing anything on foot.

Wife found a tick on her after doing yard work last week. We also found two garter snakes in the yard. Nice to see.

I use it and it helps but I've also seen ticks crawling on it like they don't care. This is on clothes I've treated my self and on exofolio pre treated clothes that are supposed be good for 70 washes I think.

The Permethrin makes them ill and unable to grab a meal from you. I'd love to believe the "last for all kinds of washes, it stays on" but I don't so we don't buy the pretreated clothing.. We do retreat ours after a few washings.

Still get ticks on clothing, they seem sluggish and I just brush them off with this applied. Seem to also find less/any at the end of a normal day in the brush.

We use Nexguard on them. Like Permethrin seems to make them ill and they fall off but they do bit them. They get ill from the bit.

Entirely different than Nexguard, but we used a (Bayer) Seresto collar on our dog a few years back, and similar to some of the reviews, our dog's skin reacted very poorly to it after about a week. Just an anecdote...

The pretreated stuff does work. My oldest pretreated clothing are T shirts from Insect Shield. I estimate they have been through about 50 washes and are still working. When I used to spray my clothing with Permethrin, I'd get about 4 or 5 washes out of it before it faded and became ineffective.

I liked it enough that I now have several pairs of pretreated pants, short and long sleeved shirts, and socks (Farm to Feet Boulder "No Fly zone" socks are great!). It's been nice not have to keep track of when the last time I sprayed my clothing was.

lol ... it is a tool for our companion in our trails making process it is relevant.
I guess you didn’t read the rules. He makes them, not you.

Topic drift is a way of life here. No point in getting worked up about it... especially when the OP starts the drift.
