I don’t see the brown smoggy air in the cities anymore like we had in the 1970s and don’t smell it. No more rivers catching fire like back then. Nixon’s clean air and water acts worked. China can kill their people; we don’t have to copy them.
Heard of stratospheric aerosol injection ? I don't see why we are so concerned about environmental issues that are creating our own demise. China, India, Russia, no concerns what so ever. They were our competition but now we are not even a contender. It's all fun and games until the Saudis get off of the petrodollar. We lose status as the world reserve currency. The cities will be burning, people killing right and left, but we were watching out for the environment... You see, gas was .25 a gallon in 1964. When a quarter was silver. Gas will be 6.00 a gallon after the Saudi move, the worth of that same silver quarter now. Reserve currency status and currency manipulation keeps the prices deflated. So, imagine 6.00 gas, 9.00 diesel, prices of groceries, wages not keeping up, people WILL hit the streets, but we were environmentally responsible, while tire fires are polluting the he double L out of everything. You'll get that pollution you've been avoiding, all at one time.

OK. I guess we’ll see. I’m not quite so pessimistic. We’ll see how things pan out.

Some are claiming land is being seized for wind and solar.

The only time I've seen land seized is for oil and natural gas pipelines through eminent domain.

I can't find any instances of land behind seized for solar or wind farms. Not saying it didn't happen, just that I can't find any instances of it so far.

As for windmills killing birds, far more die in settling ponds in coal mines and oil fields.
How much govt subsidies are involved? I know they pay oil companies here to change out huge engines on oil rigs. The owners told me.

Don't tell me you think things have gotten better the last few years.

If you want solar power install it your self! Just take a
look at what's in the solar packages and price out the
components. I did not get the 100 ah batteries that cost
approx $1400+ I purchased the cheap deep cycle batteries and set the inverter so it would not go below the 23 volt mark as I have a 24 volt system and my
batteries lasted for approx 11 years and no you can not
drain a Lithium battery as you will kill it! The recycling
is what kills the batteries. I use 24 volts so I can use 2
batteries to make 24 volts. The lithium $1400+ batteries
to get 48 volts it takes 4 12 volt batteries 4 X $1400+
= over $5600 and you still only have 100 ah
I use the 12 volt 8 or 900 cca and the cost is less than
$400 for the 2 batteries. Also you can get a controller & inverter all in one for less than $2000. Used solar
panels cost between $50 to $100 each fro 200 watts
to 300 watts each. Installation costs are high, crew &
equipment and they have a warranty usually all cost
big bucks!! If you don't know which way is the best
way to face your solar panels you can purchase a meter that will tell you.

All kinds of information if you want solar

Well, we are in a post COVID worldwide inflationary period. That’s not good, but I experienced far worse inflation in the late 1970-80s. My first mortgage in 1987 was at the prevailing rate of 10%. I remember gas lines and rationing in the early 80s. There have been far worse world war periods than now. My grandparents had ration tickets for food, fuel and things like tires in the 1940s. People in the US aren’t starving like in the 1930s when my grampa made moonshine to survive. Nothing stays the same: the world goes through boom and bust economies. After the world wide pandemic and supply chain shutdown, it’s not surprising that we are experiencing inflation. On the other hand, unemployment is low. All things continue to change and I’m old enough not to worry about every turn of events.

You are in the very tiny minority of farmers, if you look up the total number of farmed acres in the world, you will be shocked at how insignificant a farming is. Most of hay farming is for well to do horse people. It is a luxury farming, not a necessity farming.

All you ever do is make baseless claims. Back up some of your talk with facts and figures and then maybe I'll take you serious. You really just like to stir the pot.
Most of the hay grown in my state is alfalfa for the dairy industry. There is grass hay grown for hobby horse people, but it’s a small percentage. My guess is this is the same in most states with beef and dairy cattle being the focus of hay production.

My wife and I paid 3 points to get our first mortgage down to 12.5% in 1985. I also remember gas rationing. My father and mother both grew up during the depression. I took their lessons to heart. We are nowhere near as bad off as they had it. Not even close.

It has been, and I don't keep up with prices of precious metals. Most value I ever held is probably copper. Had a bunch of monell once but they paid me for stainless.
