Good morning. A rare rainy day is dawning here in southern California. Help us pray for rain in this drought stricken region. Speaking of drought there has been a shortage of family values and common sense in govt these past years. Please get out and vote today. Momma needs a new dress and Daddy needs a recovering economy.

Morning all, 48 going up to 58 and sunny, was not able to see lunar eclipse this morning, cloudy.
Day job took day/night.

Brother Knee in place and was able to stand last night. He is finally calming down a bit.

Deer jumped out in front of truck last night, saw it in time. I can't remember a day in the last few months where I haven't seen a deer.

Wife is still sick and seems worse today, may try to convince her to go to Dr., but stubborn...

back to meetings. then off to vote, no comment on the list available.

68°F and 0 rain

Limited success with my network project. The new Ethernet cable fire the 10ft mast took way too long working alone. Too many trips up and down the ladder to the roof, but got it done. Still need to run a cable between floors, bit of a challenge. Partial success with network itself, seems I may be lacking the proper power supply for a component for my preferred configuration. May have found a work around to try today.

Stayed up way too late

49F and sunny @ 11:00, only heading up to a high of around 57F.

Left shoulder only slightly sore from flu shot, barely noticable.

Woman mentioned yesterday She still sees the groundhog most mornings when She remembers to look. That surprised me - figured they would already be in hibernation mode.

She announced that She's heading down to vote after lunch ... but before school lets out (to avoid the crowd), I'll go with Her.

After that I suspect we'll be back to working over at the barn and take advantage of the last few decent days of good weather.

Transplanting of the hydrangeas can probably wait until the weather turns colder, think it will be a while before the ground freezes solid.

Will probably remove the PHD today and put it back on the stand then put the box blade and forks on and unload the foam board and 2 x 4's out of the van.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday ... (y)

I am trying to follow your build but not sure if this a barn remodel project or new construction. Maybe way back in the posts it was clear

Waaaaay back in the posts ... probably before I even started posting on this thread.

You'd have to travel back in time (2005) to "follow" it:

New Driveway and Polebarn

Basically it's (old) "new" construction ... that was never finished.

Hope you are feeling better and the 'Rona passes quickly.

I stopped to vote but too many people. Will stop by later. Did go to hot dog food trailer, not that good. First time I tried it. Chili topping was salty.

RS, are you still counting your squash?

Nope, they're all done at this point.

I did get a nice thank you from the lady at the food bank the other day who said the summer squash I provided were well received.

Between your flowers and your veggies that deer herd you have
must think you are one cool human. They will give you Lymes Disease in thanks...

LOL ... interestingly enough, we really don't seem to have much of that sort of thing around here.

While I don't doubt that they exist, there just doesn't seem to be much in the way of ticks in this area. Not really sure why.

It would be a very rare occurrence to pick one up outside and of course the cats are house cats and we really don't allow them outside (although The Woman is always wanting to let them out)

And we don't pet the wildlife so ....

Our hall clock:

IMG_2092 copy.jpg

Hasn't worked correctly since someone (who didn't know what they were doing ... ) pulled a couple of the counterweights all the way to the top and jammed it. One of those things I need a roundtuit for ...

Grandmother's cuckoo clock is packed away, along with Mom and Dad's anniversary clock.

We voted already. Walked in and was having our ID checked before the door closed. Only 2 other people voting. Timing was right…..there was a line by the time we were ready to leave.

Been mailing in my vote for many many years. Tracking shows it was received. They will text me when when it is counted. All from the safety and convenience of my home.

Same here. Been living and voting here since 1984. I worked (before retirement) 1.1 miles from my house and the polling place was halfway. For many years I would walk to work and either vote on the way in or the way back. Very rarely any lines. But then it got so I was often on travel and had to vote by other methods.
Now Fairfax County, Virginia (maybe all of Virginia) has it set up with a choice to vote by mail permanently. Works for me.
/edit
Had to drive my wife up to vote. Long story, won't tell.
But - @1400 parking lot was almost empty, was able to park real close and entire time from home to back home was 15 minutes.

Went back down an voted. Most of the line is due to a inefficient setup.

We went down and voted, no lines or waiting.

Woman dropped me off here at the house and headed back out to get wet cat food and plant fungicide.

Will bring me back a Sausage McMuffy and hash browns …

BEF, glad you got in, I'm still waiting. I figured there must have been one big bottleneck in there.

So instead just put some meat candy in the oven. Boneless country style ribs, pepper jelly and a lot of spices on it.
375 for 50 minutes. Now I wait. Smells nice already.

56F now. Temperature dropped 20 degrees from yesterday. Still, it is a beautiful day. I didn't see the full eclipse of the moon. It was just starting when I saw it. When I went out later it was either hidden by clouds or down behind the trees.

The big leaf fall was last week. I finished getting the leaves up today. There were a lot. Compost pile it full. I think I will put the mulching blades on the EGO and chop up anything else that blows into the yard.

My wife decided to get both the covid shot and the flu shot yesterday. She is on the couch watching Netflix. She doesn't feel like doing anything.

I did vote. Not too crowded except people yaking outside the door in. Make a lane people.

Hope for the best.

Chris

I forgot to say that I didn't have a single number on my powerball ticket. That's probably just as well. That was so much money that it would probably have ruined everyone in my family. Just crazy.
