Little koala has moved to another tree close to where they are building the barn. The builders are very amused because everytime they use a rattle gun the koala complains loudly. :)
Had too look up what a Rattle Gun is. Battery Operated Impact Gun. What kind of noise does a Koala make?

A day to remember and reflect on what others have done to make our country great.

Managed to wash the mower, tractor and trucks yesterday. Put mower away for the season. Yippie!

Of course this AM it is 46 outside and heading towards 70. A cold front will bring an end to that later this evening.

Met one of the girls for sushi last night. Managed 2 rounds. Been going there for years, still as good as always.

Hope all have a good day today, be safe.

Very much like a pig gunting Ron. A group of them can be very scary if you are out in the dark and don't know what they are. You may be able to find a youtube video of it.
There is a description and video here. https://wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/koala/
Cheers

Happy Veterans Day! Our neighborhood is having a big celebration at the veterans plaza in the middle of the neighborhood. The place will be packed. Here is a pic where you can see it without people, there are thousands of pavers with names engraved in memory of the honored veterans. There will be a military band and the command sergeant from Fort Hood will be the guest speaker.

Good morning! 56˚F heading to the mid 70s, clear skies after a cold front changed the wind direction. I did not hear any rain last nigh so I'll have to cycle through the irrigation zones today to water the lawn and shrubs.

Insulation truck arrived yesterday and blew in a nice extra pink layer of insulation in the attic and insulated the garage doors. The animals sleep in the garage so this will make it comfortable for them in their old age.

Sadamo, what appliances do you have on the now scorned fossil fuels, my mom has just her water heaters and house furnace and can make $400 worth of propane (at todays prices) last a month to 6 weeks during the winter depending on the cold.

Morning all, cloudy today.
Got the lawn tractor out and ground up some leaves, then the little wonder to clear the driveway. Wish that machine had headlights as it was very dark by the time I was done.

Drew- When I see bark that looks like someone was trying to strip the tree, it's a dead Ash. I have a few dozen more large ones to go on the felling. A few more fell on their own.
Do not walk under these trees, I regularly see 20-30 foot branches sticking up like poles, dug deep into the ground.

Propane is over $3 here, don;t use much , just pool heater and for apartment.

Most of the leaves are down, fire bushes are almost at peak, will have to get pictures later.
Still need to get leaves off the front porch/walkway and back deck. May need to grind up some more of them.

Stay safe and be well,

We had rain in the forecast yesterday, but I'd about given up hopes for any rain when I went to bed early last night just after dark. But I got up this morning to find about .67" of rain in my gauge. NWS shows it must have started just after I got in bed.🤣

Good Morning.
It’s 40 and supposed to make it to 60 today.
Yesterday followed the plan. Got all the trimming done with the Lazer, then took the loader off the Kubota and hooked up the Progressive. Pulled it around to the shop, and checked the oil in the gearboxes, and greased all the driveshafts, spindles, casters and pivots. About 50 fitting and a full tube of grease. By the time I was done it was lunchtime. My helper was getting up from his nap as I was finishing lunch.
We got all of the mowing done, blew all the clippings off the mower, parked and disconnected it, then refueled the tractor.

My neighbor had hosed the tractor off last week, leaving dirty water spots all over the glass. With the low sun, it was often difficult ,if not impossible to see out of the windows depending on the sun angle. So our next chore was to wash the tractor and use a blower to dry the windows. I gave him the Makita blower, while I used the Stihl, but he was actually productive. My 18 month old helper had a lot of fun, but was pretty wet when I brought him home to his mother. She should be thankful that I cleaned the grease off of him from where he was inspecting my greasing of the casters. She took full advantage of his absence to get errands and chores done.

After all that, had time for dinner and zoom meeting afterwards.

I’m thinking today might be a good day to continue the ever ongoing cleanup efforts in the shop.

Came across this friendly group of cops out of Modesto for training ride. Imagine getting paid to ride motorcycles!

Will be at Bashfords Hot Spring tonight getting a soak and relaxing evening. Then on to the camp out.

Good afternoon, another windless and misty day here. At first light I thought there had been a frost as the fields were white over, yet it is only light reflecting off countless damp spider webs.

It is nice to see all the fall pic's including Steppenwolfe's today.
Our ash trees are shedding their leaves before they have chance to turn colour. Only good point is that the sheep have been queuing up to munch on them, so not as many to blow around this year.

PJ, bender sounds interesting. Assuming linear driven, or cnc ball screw/rotary driven?
I was wondering the same thing about the bender. I’m guessing some sort of feedback controlled motor turning a jack screw.
Oh the possibilites ! - it's actually a mind bender :giggle:

David and Sophie, sorry for your loss. Sounds like he was a great guy.

Thanks Doug, my Texas friend (also named Doug) told me about the stuff, we call it "friction modifier". Might have to try some.

That's ludicrous. Inflation is ridiculous right now. Not much good news on that front. Waiting to see what your dad wrote on his poster.

Beautiful pics all! Fall colors, dew, koalas, barns, we get it all right here on the GM thread.

Days are shorter, getting cooler. Texas gets about 2 weeks of Fall weather. There's been interesting moon/planet alignments this week.

Most All the new people in our town speak spanish.

Kyle, this is what we’ve used for years, works really well.

I can’t get the attachment to work, but google Lubeguard transmission friction modifier.
