Anybody use Titan shrub puller

I use my Land Pride grapple. It closes tight enough that I can pull great wads of Buck brush with each chomp.

What machine do you have it on? Is visibility a problem with other implements also - bucket, etc?

It is on a LS4140 Cab. And yes, I have issues with seeing any implement that is engaged low to the ground. Even hooking up the SSQA is a PITA and that is why I need the camera.

I test drove a L4701 and noticed the switching implements was "cumbersome".

FYI - I use a after-market backup camera for backing up my 2014 F350 to a trailer. Its bluetooth to the plug in screen in the cab. I cheaped out when I bought it cause its only for occasional use - kinda sux!! ( intermittent pic and digital breakup) I would recommend due diligence on purchasing a remote camera for a cab tractor - like most things a few $$ saved won't be worth the aggravation of poor performance. my$.02

I have posted before and stick by it, the INTIMIDATOR is great! From small to big it will work, there is a little issue with the site over the hood (JD 5225) but it works as advertised. I have used it to dig roots on things that wouldn't just pull out. I have also used it with brush on a fence line, cut limbs off of the fence and then just pull out, no hassle. The group pictured below took less than 10 minutes to pull out and no damage to the fence. I like the idea of the 3 point hook up, Thanks for that!

@ranger danger how is yours attached to the 3 point? i world like to replicate your setup
If you can weld you might be able to add the 3 point mounts, here is one for John Deere that fits front or rear: Buckthorn Puller

No trees where I live now but 20 years ago I had to pull a bunch of 8 ft evergreens from a windbreak. It was early spring with soft ground and I just hooked a chain to the hooks on my tractor, wrapped around the base of the trunk and easily lifted them out of the ground. It was a 90HP tractor but 70HP or less would have done it. Harder ground would have been more of a problem.

Some came out so easily and had enough of a rootball that I was able to transplant them. All lived.

Anybody pulled the shrubs or tree stumps out like this. It's not hard, best when the soil is not compacted nor dry season.

Smaller trees, just the rim works fine too.

Nothing fancy at all and the cost is minimal.

What's the trick? Turning horizontal force to vertical force.

Bmaverick… I’ve seen this before but it’s still pretty neat.

It works really well, but not in all conditions. Speed is actually the worse thing to do. There is lots of tension involved and having that chain whip back without protection is a death sentence. The bigger the wheel, the better it works. With the tractor, creeper gear does this great. IF the wheels spin, you got to dig around to loosen it up. Hose soak for 20mins on a super large stump like the first video. Soil types are key too.

Now, if some company can take an attachment with a wheel like mechanism with a crash wall in place, this DIY rigged system would be much safer.

I'm no expert, but the guy in the 1st video is lucky there was not a chain or cable failure. I think maybe when people do something risky enough times without a negative consequence they tend to get cavalier about basic safety measures.

I've had mine for 4 years. Pulls tree's up to 6" easy and 8" with a little extra work. I pull ceanothus bushes about 3" around and 30 feet tall with ease. I use the " jaws of death" on the 3 point and a grapple on the the fel. Makes for quick easy work!

Thanks, this looks like something I definitely need on my list.

Do you have to get studies and permits before you can pull trees in California? I thought I read somewhere that y'all have to get an environmental impact study and someone from DNR to approve any removal and a shaman to bless the trees before you can get started. OK, the shaman thing may have been a bit of a stretch.

1.5” square tubing costs 70% more than 7 months ago so no idea what they cost now. Had trouble getting the local CO-OP ordering one and Dan Danuser got involved which I feel I got good faith discount years ago. They don’t sell directly and have to go thru “dealer”. $2.050.

Impressed with what the little B26 can pull and favorite for maneuverability with fences and near buildings. Dan Danuser warned to dig only with the jaws closed. Reaching up to tear low hanging branches down a little discussed benefit. Don’t like low branches.

In another post details welding lips on the skidsteer attachments that makes it lots easier to connect with limited sight or uneven hitching.

Grapples jumps on now.

Looking for anyone who has used the Titan hydraulic clamping tree and shrub puller, or, another “economy” similar tool. ($900-$1200).
How did it perform?)
We have one for our JCB skid steer. It works great. I pulled over 200 buckthorn out in less than 2 hours. Buckthorn root system doesn't go very deep, so they are easy to pull. It will pull out some good sized trees as long as the weight isn't too much for the counterbalance on the JCB and you can break the roots lose. When the trees get too big, we use the backhoe.

There are some large oak trees you have to have permission to remove. Not a problem if you don't let them on your property to register and mark them. In most urban neighborhoods, you need a permit to remove any tree.
As for the Shaman, that would be ok with me. I'm half American Indian raised on a reservation. I've had several items and events blessed in the past and it has always been a positive experience.

Got ours for $2800 in May of 2020, I spoke with Glenn Danuser, he called me within 5 minutes of an email I sent because I wasn't sure how to put it on a JD hook up. I decided to buy a Worksaver adaptor for JD to Skid Steer connector which was $700. I was looking at the Titan JD to Skid Steer but the Woksaver is made in the US and the welds looked better to me, plus reviews of Titan weren't very good. Reviews for the Titan adaptor indicated many people had to modify the pins. The Worksaver fit perfectly and has taken the abuse.

I recently sold a Titan brand puller. It worked well, I pulled out 100's and 100's of invasive trees. As mentioned, visibility is a big issue on the FEL of a tractor. On my 30HP Mahindra, I can easily stand up from the seat and still operate the controls well. The fit and finish is typical Chinese knock off quality, leaves a lot to be desired and the hydraulic lines aren't routed the best. I just bought a Stinger brand puller, as the jaws open much wider and are much wider. I think the jaws open to 34" and the length of the "grabbers" is 42". It's similar to the Danuser, but only has 1 cylinder. I wanted to be able to see better with the longer grabbers, and be able to grab more in one bite. I have a ton of bamboo to remove, and the invasive trees are never ending. Link. They just went up $300, supposedly the first price increase Stinger has made since steel prices have skyrocketed. Stinger was great to deal with, salesman followed up every time and talked me through every aspect of the puller. They sell direct, and their prices are good in my opinion.

STP-25 by landpride/kubota works great. It is the generic design as well, but has the push bar which helps greatly on the stuff that won't just pull up and out. You just put the bar on the trunk and give it a bit of back and forth. It also helps keep really tall stuff from slipping and coming directly towards/onto you. The stuff you can pull will vary by time of year and type of tree/bush.

I had to pull out hundreds of small invasive acacias, 1-2" mostly. I made a hook from scrap steel attached to the 3-point, it protruded behind the tractor a few feet horizontally. I just ripped them out of the ground. When I was done I scrapped it again, which was dumb because 10 years later I need to do it all again.

Of course this is a very limited implement compared to the glorious hydraulic gizmos on this thread; but it sure is fast and cheap if it can do your work.

One more picture....small oak...probably one of the bigger trees I have pulled with the intimidator, would not be afraid to put it on a skid steer and push it hard, plan to do that in the future. This was right next to the fence so took some work but again no damage to the fence and no stump left to deal with. I have mostly used it for Huisache which have long tap roots that have to be removed or killed for them to not grow back. I have a fairly large Huisache trunk I pulled out if you want to see that picture20210307_173449.jpg
