Why would you say such a thing?

....
You can buy engine oil at most grocery stores. But you don't walk around to each isle telling the other shoppers what a lousy auto supply store this is.

It's pretty obvious he doesn't like the layout of this site, or 99% of the members' activities. They don't interest him. Go to his profile, select the option to read all of his posts, then read them and come to your own conclusion. Not many positive things to say about anything. Seems he's not very happy here. So why stick around and punish himself? There's a place for everyone on the internet. Find a place that makes you happy. This doesn't appear to be that kind of place for him.

That's why I said such a thing.

I couldn't remember why I was ignoring Chagit's posts. Thanks for reminding me. Ignore is a great forum option.

??? I just want to be sure here....It was not my post or my comments that offended anybody right? I think my post took a left turn to somewhere I did not intend, and is being used in a way I could not have imagined! I just had a Corn Question, and it turned into a Corny, Catastrophic, face slapping, who are you to say that hairy hay situation! 🇺🇸

No worries. You are fine.

Sometimes, threads take on a life of their own based on unusual, off-topic comments.

Happy 4th!

No sir. You are good, sorry to be a part of the derailment of your thread.

The problem is you do not act like "the other shopper" in the grocery store, you act like the homeless settled in the shop disturbing the shoppers.
You know; if you don't like the content of the topics you are free to start a discussion of your choice, within the parameters laid out by the owner of the site. Belittling people doesn't accomplish anything.

This site has always reminded me of Toby Keiths song I Live This Bar.
An eclectic bunch for sure.

The only knowledge we are born with is to breath and poop. All other we gain through asking or experience. Seeking an answer should be applauded. Rarely does a day go by that I dont learn something new.

Happy 4th.

If you have a question, ask it. Most of us will be willing to offer our experience and advice; if you don't like what is being offered, then being imperious is going to hurt more than help...best solution, go somewhere that you are appreciated. Be a smartazz and this gaggle of grizzled old veterans will rip you to shreds.

He is a kid pretending to be a farmer. He does not have a clue. Instead of trying to learn from those that know, he would rather make himself out to be something he is not. Just the facts.
His signature line tells you a lot about his ability to think and reason:

Stop being rich !

Capitalism is the greatest crime against humanity

You're OK. It's like you say, somebody tried to hijack your thread and he's the one who people jumped all over. You did get your question answered, in the first reply. I hope that you didn't overlook that in the ensuing confusion.

To the OP your question was a good one I think. The answer you got is correct, it’s just the seed corn itself that is toxic, not the corn it grows. I think farmers that do it for a living don’t gravitate towards this web site.

Nearly all seed corn is treated so to grow enough to survive before fungus, mold or something will eat it, before it has a chance to become the corn we consume. Many people here don't know how the ag industry operates and was the reason I started this thread.

My corn seed has to be planted, grown, harvested, sold to cattlemen, fed to cattle that have to grow, be slaughtered, sold to a grocery store and then bought by my wife and BBQ’d by me before it is consumed.

So, I can’t remember the question anymore.

Couple years back after planting sunflowers I had a kitty litter bucket win my planter when I switched to corn. Expensive , about $400 per bag, and thought it would be safe - after all, it’s treated and labeled just like your corn. Next year I wanted to use up that bucket but it was filled with husks, seeds all gone. Squirrels had gnawed a hole in the bucket, ate all the seeds leaving the shells. Not a dead squirrel anywhere. But your original question, yes, warning is for the seed, not the end product. But it is wise to read up because some crops are toxic to animals. Horse farmers to whom I sell some of my hay can be very finicky.

The truth is some people can't say anything good all they
can do is derail or criticize or spew trashy words because
maybe they had an unhappy childhood or just maybe their
inward tensions are getting to them??????????

The smart people read the information and gain knowledge
perhaps they will be able to use the info at a later date if not
now.

Besides that's what this site is all about is to LEARN FROM
OTHERS:giggle: and not be a critic!!!!!
