Home - Suntec Wind & Solar

The power of google. I was watching some YouTube videos and this ad popped up. Apparently we do not use today's technology in privacy.
Google knows everything you do if you ever carry a phone or get on the Internet.

Now with Google and Facebook, its completely ludicrous that some people won't get vaccinated for fear that their vaccine will include a tracking microchip. :D

Elon Musk’s Boring Company reportedly pitching wider tunnels that could transport freight

Sometime ago I read where someone was proposing or stating that would be possible to tunnel to Alaska go under the straits over to Russia and back down to China and we could have shipping by ground to and from China and the United States. This would sound like a nice project for electric self-driving trucks.
Russia also has talked about a rail link from western Europe to the US via a tunnel across the 60 mile Bering Strait. I doubt we'll see it in our lifetimes but the tunnel from England to France illustrates that this isn't impossible.

Glad you guys weren't NASA engineers back in the 60's... we'd never have made it into space. Doom and Gloom ... (n)(n)(n)
I always wanted to be a rocket surgeon.

Ha. My wife says that to me a lot.

Glad you weren’t in charge of building homes or we’d be homeless! Glad you don’t build cars or we’d be walking everywhere! Glad men don’t have babies or we’d have no kids!
On and on.

Women are smarter than us... My neighbor down at the farm asked me my opinion today after I was done mowing if he should put his house and land up for sale; I said, "I don't know, but call my wife, she'll know".... We laughed for 10 minutes...

No arguments from me. However, tomorrow is Fathers Day so - for one day - they can at least pretend we have some value!

Women are actually NOT smarter than us. In fact, at an IQ test score of 145 or near-genius level, men outnumber women by 8-to-1. Furthermore, men are represented 10-15x more on the highest measurable levels of intelligence.

That's not what she said.

Meanwhile, take away the tax incentives and they will fail is happening already:

Yeah, kinda like farms who receive about 40% of their income from subsidies. Or government bailouts for banks and auto manufacturers. Or the $20 billion every year the gov’t hands out to the oil and gas industry, etc etc etc.

Molded Fiber Glass, a wind turbine plant, will be shutting down.
"MFG said in a news release that the closure will happen because of changing market conditions, foreign competition, and proposed revisions to tax policies affecting the wind energy industry in the United States."

This is code for “the Chinese can make stuff cheaper because they use slave labor so give us money if you want manufacturing to stay in the US”. Personally I’m OK with that.

You see this with all disruptive technology.

“Television won’t last”
”Data processing is a fad”
”Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible”

Every visionary had legions of folks telling them it was too hard so why try. Ignoring those naysayers is one of the many things that helped make America the great country it is today. Plus I’m too old to learn how to speak Chinese now.

TRUE! Unless you’re a hay farmer.….🤬

Right. What does logic, intelligence or reasoning have to do with being "smarter" than your wife? They have nothing to do with the matter. Men are just beefcake when a spider is on the ceiling, a car needs to be jump started, the checkbook needs to be balanced or something as trivial as that.:oops::oops:

My cousin is a researcher in water quality. 20+ years ago he got a contract from Caltrans for a study of the effect of tire rubber going into San Francisco Bay. I never heard the final result, but I expect a little digging online would find his conclusions, and others'.

The reason for hiring the study was concern that water quality was affected. I talked to him early in the project. At that point he hadn't shown that the particles were more than just inert mass.

More recently the concern over SF Bay and the related Delta, is for the tiniest fish that are the foundation for sustaining larger aquatic life - salmon, etc. The recent concern about microplastics might use his findings about quantity and location, and build on that for a more comprehensive model of what's going on.
There is a chemical that leaches out of tires that kills salmon in very low concentrations. I'm sure there will be a hot discussion about that, which will end with water treatment of street and highway runoff.

Wow. So tire preservative additive is the culprit. Seems like it might be easier to mandate different rubber formulation, compared to capturing runoff everywhere.

In the meantime, let’s get some laws written to halt tire production. We need a multi billion dollar study while rubber tires are unavailable to find the solution.…..Probably only take a few years….
The Amish sell & use steel wheels on tractors and buggies. We could equip the 200 mile range EVs with the steel tires. Tractors already have them…..No biggie!
We humans can do steel wheels…….wait, what about wooden wheels!!!!! We can use wooden wheels, too!
American ingenuity!

How much of each day do you spend thinking about environmentalists? Seems like they're living rent free in your head!
