Kioti LB2204
Hello, I recently purchased a Kioti LB2204 and the hydraulics didn’t work at all. After replacing filter and fluids I can get the rear to go up slowly at higher rpm and it will fall once it’s back to idle speed. I’ve taken apart most everything on the hydraulic system of the tractor and I’m still not anywhere closer to fixing it. I would very much appreciate any help I can get with this problem. I’ve included photos of some of the hydraulic components on the tractor.

Thank you in advance

The nut I circled is the diverter for when you have a loader installed. Looks like the pin is cut off or missing but it originally would only turn so far and the pin would keep it from going 360 degrees. All the way clockwise was for a loader and counterclockwise for no loader. Does this have a stop or will it just keep turning?

It will keep turning freely

That is a problem. That diverts flow to the power beyond that feeds the loader. Then power beyond goes from the loader to 3pt hitch.

In one position, it would bypass the loader and just feed 3pt. In the other position it would feed the loader. Anything in between would create a split flow that would create a shortage of fluid to both. Here is a picture of mine.

That said, the symptoms sound like a weak pump or stuck relief valve. I believe that model had a 7GPM pump so maybe doing a flow test would tell you something.

To do that you can discount the hose feeding the loader and pump it into a 5 gal bucket with a mark for 1 gal. Then time how long it takes to fill to that line. Set RPM somewhere between 1500 and 2000 for the test.

I hope that helps!

Thank you for your help, none of the gauges on my dash seem to be working so I’ll eyeball the rpm. Can you point me to where the relief valve is?

You could also adjust the diverter to a good flow rate out of the hose feeding the loader. That would tell you where it should be set. Then mark it so you can easily find that spot.

is there going to be another pressure relief valve for the 3 point or is this the only one for the entire system?

I believe this is also a relief. But I suspect the loader relief.

Thank you for all of your help, the hydraulic steering also doesn’t work. Would the diverter in the wrong position cause that as well?

It should not have anything to do with the power steering. The whole thing is a priority valve for the power steering. The circuit is separate for the loader or 3pt hitch.

I do not know if there is screen in the transmission on that model or not. It would be on the suction side of things. If it has one it could be clogged.

You may have to check pump flow straight from the pump. The priority valve could be clogged as well. May have to take it off and go through it.

If there was a screen on the suction side of things would I have to take off the top of the transmission under the seat area to get to it?

/ Kioti LB2204 hydraulic issues #13
No it should be on the side of Transmision or behind the fitting that feeds the pump. Just unscrew the fitting from the transmission and the screen may be attached.

That’s the pipe that’s feeding the pump, I’ve taken it apart before to see what’s on the other side and I put it back together after seeing it’s only a small hole not any obvious mesh anywhere. I will give it another look this weekend when I’m able to work on the machine again. Thank you

I have a hydraulic log splitter, If I want to bypass my tractors hydraulic pump and try to get the loader operational with the hydraulic log splitters pump and reservoir would that be a practical idea and method of testing the loader valve?

/ Kioti LB2204 hydraulic issues #16
That could work but you would have to remove the power beyond plug and plug that port. You would have to bypass the splitter valve completely as well. A lot of work and still will not have a solution.

I still think you should start with pump flow. Then if it is flowing properly you could go to the diverter valve and verify flow out to the loader valve. Follow that logic till you discover the problem.

Forget about pressure or things moving for now just concentrate on flow.

So the specs are 6.67gpm and at a higher rpm I was able to get 3.75gpm and at idle 2.5gpm straight off the pump

So the pump is weak. I would imagine under pressure it would be worse. Can you post a picture of your pump?

Also I just disconnected the hose that would pump fluid into the rams that raise the loader and I got absolutely nothing coming out. Rear three point will still go up very slowly at higher rpms

I’m guessing that these three hoses going into the loader valve is inlet, outlet and power beyond. Any chance you can tell me which is which?
