I think the Fusion will not be produced after this year. We have a hybrid Fusion. It's a nice driving car and we typically see 35 to 38 mpg on the highway and about 45 around town. I think Ford has made a mistake in abandoning sedans. If the Fusion comes back it will probably be a crossover SUV.
Well supposedly 2018 was the last year, but they still make them. We will see.

I've not measured the width of its box. Are you sure your atv will fit in there?
Not yet, we will when we get closer to time to shop. Worse case he has to trailer it.

I agree. Particularly that vehicle. Good looking, reliable and good mileage.

We like this silly ranger so much, we are looking at the new bronco as a replacement for our Element.

The Bronco and the 2022 Ranger look a little more distinct from each other than I expected. Assuming common renderings are accurate.

The next time we tow our camper I might try putting premium fuel in it. The manual states that's the thing to do... We're having and early spring here and might be camping in a month or so.

I am not as big of a fan of the new Ranger as many here are. I have a 2019 crew cab with just over 15,000 miles and am just not impressed with the 2.3 litre engine. For a small 4 cylinder engine the power seems adequate but to me its noisy and I am less than impressed with the fuel mileage. I recently towed a a two place enclosed snowmobile trailer (empty) from Hayward Wisconsin to Red wing Minnesota and averaged 12.5 miles per gallon of fuel use. Now these enclosed trailers are not the most aerodynamic as there is only a small taper from front to back so you do push some air. And the road is essentially all two lane 60 mph and you go through several small towns so its not as efficient as traveling at a steady speed but I expected better fuel mileage. The 12.5 mpg was based upon actual numbers based upon filling the tank at the beginning and at the end of the trip not relying on the computer. The computer kept telling me I was averaging around 15 mpg which to me isn't all that impressive but actually dropping to 12.5 just is disappointing.

How's your mileage when you're not towing?

We tow lots, so can I answer your question? When you tow things, the power is square to the size of sail your trailer creates. So when we tow our 12ft flatbed trailer with our 6x6 on it, MPG hardly changes at all is somewhere around 20 or higher MPG. But when we go camping with our big, square, utility trailer camper and drive 70+ on the interstate, it falls to 10+-.

I didn't check the last time I pulled my open 12' utility trailer with a small garden tractor to Wisconsin but I am sure it was no where near 20 mpg. I still think for me 15 mpg is probably about the best I can do with any type of trailer. I do around 18 mpg commuting back and forth to work.

And to follow up on my previous post, the GMC canyon with the 3.6 V6 gave me just over 20 mpg on my daily commute. I know its all personal preference but I just like how quiet and smooth the V6 is compared to the ecoboost 4. Now, if Ford ever follows through with rumors I've heard of a 2.7 ecoboost (V6) then I could see myself revising my less than stellar rating of the Ranger.

That's not impressive or encouraging at all. :(
Was hoping for it to be more around 22-25 with hiway being closer to 27-30mpg.

2022 is supposed (rumored) to have the 2.7 eco V6 and the 3.0 diesel V6 as options. Excuse my while I wipe the drool off my chin.

I don't know, this truck darn can tow all our trailers like nothing. Even tow our big square camper trailer down the interstate at 80. Do we need more HP?? Over the summer, when we'll not aren't warming it up all the time, the fuel mileage is great. I'm not sure what to complain about.

Have you compared that to hand calculated values? There's a reason those things are called lie-o-meters!:)

Seems most are off 10-15%.

I check ours early on and found our dash computer was pretty close. So I lost interest in checking it.

Yes I did the first few months I owned it. It was only off a few tenths of a mile, very close, not 10 - 15 %.

TCowner, any pics of your fuel history not towing a trailer?

I had this discussion at work about fuel mileage numbers at work. A co-worker was telling me that his 2019 Ram with 5.7 hemi was consistently getting 23-24 mpg according to the dash computer. Prior to the 2019 Ranger and the 2017 GMC Canyon, I had a 2014 Chevrolet silverado (5.3) and a 2011 Ford 150 (3.5 ecoboost) all quad cabs, and about 18 mpg was the consistent 13 mile commute (70 mph on the four lane) to work with some city driving tossed in. Now these are numbers based upon actual numbers between filling up at the station because the dash computer seemed to show better numbers.

My co-worker had a just over a 200 mile trip (all freeway) planned so challenged him with a friendly wager to use actual numbers and rely on the computer. He ran the trip mostly in the 70-75 mph speed and came up with just over 19 mpg when filled up. I won a 20 oz. diet coke.

I'm not getting the results you folks are. I am going to do another test next weekend on the trip to Wisconsin, this time with no trailer. I am going to compare the dash computer to the actual fill up numbers and report. If the numbers are anything above 20 mpg I will stand at the top of mountain and praise the Ford Motor Company.
