It's a shame some of "those people" don't realize it takes 100 gallons of "fuel" to produce a battery that will save ONE gallon of fuel on the road.

A Tesla battery costs about $20,000 and is proven to average 250,000 Mike service life. At 30 MPG that would be 8333 gallons. At $2/gallon and "100 gallons to save 1" that would be $1,666,667 of fuel to build that $20,000 battery. I call ******** in your claim.

Just sitting here watching all the stranded vehicles in sub zero weather thinking, I'd rather be in a petrol powered vehicle with a full tank than an electric vehicle with charged battery.

lots of people complaining about the new Bolt and Bolt EUV, but they are cheaper than the outgoing model. they are the cheapest EV's in the US market with a decent range, i think the base leaf is cheaper with 100 miles less range. they are going to fill out the lineup, but decided to roll out a budget option first. with typical GM discounts and whatever you should be able to get one of these for 25k ish. cheap enough that if you have a car, and are paying for gas, and you buy one of these and make payments, the payments will be around the cost of the fuel for the other car. makes it nearly free to own.
