Electric Power Washer Recommendation?

I would say that my 120 volt unit has all the power and volume of any do it yourself carwash. Just don't buy some consumer junk.

I致e got a 120v Karcher that works well for what it is, but it will never compete with a 5gpm gas powered unit. It痴 at least 20 years old, so I致e got no complaints on durability

Second vote for Karcher. Multi uses due to the range of attachments available and the internal parts are brass. Quality stuff and they're backed by their own repair shops, although I don't know what the policy is, in the US, for units bought at one of your 'Big Box' stores.

I do know that the RAAF uses Karcher (petrol) units for aircraft washdowns and was the reason I went with that brand. I've had zero issues with mine during the infrequent usage over the 7 years I've had mine.

The brass pump is a big plus for a unit that sees infrequent use. Many of the low cost units use aluminum in the water path, which is prone to corrosion.

It's probably one of those areas where you get what you pay for. Karchers focus seems to be on lots of plastic! Why I opted for a USED commercial unit. think I paid $200.00 cdn in 90s dollars.

I still think (Even in the Hot water units) Karcher puts too much emphesis on packaging their machines in plastic. Hide all the working bits. Even if they are a quality machine, I would nave no interest in paying for that plastic crap.

There is no plastic in the one that I linked to.

I'm in the market for an electric power washer come Spring time. Lots of options but I was wondering if anyone on here has recommendations based on their own experience. I'm tired of reading "reviews" after someone just tried out their brand new power washer for 30 minutes

Matt Moreman at Obsessed Garage did an extensive test of many electric pressure washers. Plus, his videos of these tests are on Youtube.

That's a machine. Simply built to do a job. Nothing about marketing or appearance. I like! Similar to what I have.

Yup, the difference between the commercial and homeowner markets.

That Karcher commercial looks very nice, with functional vs. pretty packaging

Why are most only for cold water?

I think it would be great to use water from our water heater to help the cleaning process.

The only pressure wash I have really used was a commercial stationary unit from Hotsey back in the late 70s and early 80s that had its own burner to heat the water.

Based on a quick search, cold water pressure washers can be connected to hot water as long as the temp is less than 140F.

A cold unit can build up temperatures in a hurry while in bypass. Hot water would hasten this process, I'm guessing.

Yep......and by the time your domestic hot water reaches the pressure washer inlet, it will always be less than 140 degrees.
