Three days ago, when I got home from work we had gotten 3' of snow within about 14 hours. It has not been above freezing since.

Today my driveway looks like this (if you zoom in you can see that the white stuff in the foreground it dried salt):

My wife says I should see a therapist. I think it's normal. So I thought Id throw it out to my peers and see if I actually have a problem or not.

Nothing to do with snow clearing but I will say YES just as a matter of principal.

Why does she want you to see a therapist. It seems normal to me that you would want to clear the driveway of snow and did a great job too. The rest of your 3' seems to have settled down to about a foot.

Me personally I would do just a good enough job to drive on but I wouldn’t condemn someone for being crazy for doing a good job. Also when I sweep my shop I just hit the worst of it vs going over the whole thing with surgical precision.

I don't see sod ripped up along the edges. Nice work!

btw, I agree on keeping the wife. If you ever DO need therapy she'll get you there. ;)

Next time leave it unplowed...so you can meet her lawyer!

NO!
You do not need therapy!
If that had deteriorated to a sloppy mess, then frozen on that little hill, and stayed that way for a couple days, SHE would have been all over you, for NOT plowing, and THEN you would need therapy!
You are a wise man !

If you didn't have a cab, I would say yes. But since you do, I would only ask if you did the neighbor's too.

I vacuum my lawn. This year I did it 4 times. However, there were (hang it!) over 100 leaves still out there when the snow hit.

Take as long as you want, it's therapy in itself, plus, gets you out of nag range.

Your health care plan covers it doesn't it?

No therapy necessary. People are what they are with respect to stuff like neatness and order.

I go out to clear snow even if it’s not done snowing yet. Just have to get something done.

Same with leaves. I pick up leaves early and often and burn. My neighbor is happy to wait until the trees are bare and then go to work cleaning up the leaves.

My wife thinks I’m crazy.

Then again, I’m happy to leave my socks on the closet floor until there is a big enough pile to make it worthwhile to pick up. She can’t stand that and picks them up - even if there are only 2! So, maybe she needs the therapy!!!!

You got 3' of the white stuff. My guess - you had to do something unless you wanted to cross country ski to work. Good job!!

Around here I could take my good 'ol time at clearing my driveway. 3' - it would be two weeks before the county roads were plowed.

MoKelly

I'm with you, but I wish we were allowed to burn.
