I love their bread, and they have a bowl dish with shrimp, chicken and prosciutto ham/pasta that is spicy and delicious.

The Penne Rustica was my favorite.

I hardly ever see the same Amazon or UPS person twice, so wouldn't know who to leave cash or cookies for.
Now mail person and trash guys, yeah, time for an envelope.

You guys seem to have such a good experience with Menards, wish there was one around here.
Traded that one for the L3940C.
and now you are staying warm and dry.

glad everyone did well with snowstorm Gail. Bye Gail.

time to clean dry walkway and deliver pastries to family.

My son ordered a gift for his mom, USPS claims it was delivered, but it wasn’t. He went to post office, apparently they have GPS tracking, and it got delivered to wrong address, and they must have kept it. He’s disappointed as he can’t order another before Christmas and he’s out $40 from the first order.

Why doesn't the post office ask for the package back from the wrong house?

Good afternoon, blustery southerly winds have brought quite mild weather for us, 13C/55F, unfortunately they have dragged a lot of rain clouds with them too so I am having another inside day.

I had a surprise invite to a zoom quiz this morning with the people I worked with earlier in the year. Not quite the usual Christmas get together we had when everyone brings in different kinds of food, but still good to be in touch with people I haven't seen since the start of the pandemic.

Roy, never thought of a tractor cruise control being useful while moving snow. Careful you don't fall asleep with it on now you have a cosy cab, or the cul-de-sac may end up a lot more than 1/8 of a mile in length :)

27°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 48° today.

Waiting on a package, and tracking shows FedEx claims they delivered it yesterday afternoon. A walk around the outside of the house last night says they did not. (sigh)

Great news from your doctor, Randy.

From what I have been reading, it seems you guys that have snow love playing with it with your snow blowers etc. LOL

Yeah, we do!! It's one of my favorite tasks with the tractor!

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 6:45AM. Mostly sunny. High 58F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain in the 10-day until a week from Sunday, and then it's only a 50% chance. Yesterday's morning drizzle was done by 9AM, and skies cleared from there. Dry enough to get some work done, but still wet enough not to worry about starting a wildfire.

That's a lot of snow, Lou; both you and Thomas sound like you had more than enough. Glad the rest of you are getting through the storm without too much extra work.

I had a home warranty when I bought my first home. It was so full of holes and excuses, it was basically worthless. Never again.

Usta go to the Macaroni Grill in Albuquerque regularly, and liked their food. Then they had some kind of management change and it wasn't so good anymore. There was one across the street from the rib joint I went to last week, and I didn't even consider eating there.

Got a letter from the USPS day before yesterday saying there will be delivery delays this holiday season, mostly blaming weather but also saying they were short handed because of CV19. There are delivery delays every holiday season; now they just have another excuse. And speaking of excuses, I was out working by the gate yesterday morning when my miserable excuse of a mailman came by. This one has been on the job a couple months now, and I regularly get other people's mail, and he has a hard time getting the envelopes all the way into the box past the security slot. Also rarely uses the lock on the parcel locker. I asked him if he was having trouble using either one, or if the hasp on the locker was hard for him to use, and he said he was fine. I didn't want to start an argument with him, so kept quiet as he launched into a long rant about how terrible his management treated him, and how he should get a 10 minute break mornings and afternoons, but doesn't get them. I was left with the conclusion that management doesn't treat him very well because his attitude stinks and it shows in his sloppy work!:grumpy: He'll get no holiday treat from me. Same with UPS/FedEx: It's a different driver every time and they're always pulling bone headed stunts when they deliver.

We've lost so many here in the US due to people not taking the simple precautions of wearing a mask and minimizing contact with other people, Doug. Not surprising that the airline crew did the same, and no fine seems enough punishment. Maybe put 'em in jail long enough without pay to really make 'em feel some pain.

Happy for you that the brewmaster got is mud back, David. Hopefully the new keg doesn't disappoint. BevMo here was having a sale, including a special holiday brew of Shiner with a peach flavor. Ordered a case, along with several different milk stouts. In the process learned that it's called that because lactose is added during brewing and since it doesn't ferment, remains in the beer to give it a sweet flavor. The order form let me set the pickup date for next Wednesday, then the fine print on the receipt said if it hasn't been picked up after five days it would be returned to stock and I wouldn't be charged. Here we go again...

Got the Stihl pole saw out for some exercise yesterday, trimming limbs back up at the gate. Mixed a fresh tank of premix, and it fired right up with just a couple of pulls. As usual, I spent more time moving the branches to a new burn pile then I spent cutting them. The new Makita electric saw was a joy to use, once I remembered to put the batteries in it. Just push the button and pull the trigger, no stalling out when left idling on the ground, no fussing with gas, perfect for cutting long branches down so they were much easier to load.

After about four trips to the burn pile I noticed water dripping out from under the Kubota side-by-side, and sure enough the temperature gauge was pegged. Limped it back to the garage and found the return hose from the radiator was leaking where it went through a steel pipe behind the fan belt pulley. And after some wiggling, leaned that the steel pipe had rusted away. To get it out, I had to disconnect another hose from the water pump housing, and that hose turned out to be in pretty bad shape. As was the fan belt. Cut a piece of 1/2" water pipe to replace the steel tube, put it all back together so I could keep using it, and got the correct parts on order at the Kubota dealer. They said they'd be there in just a few days, hopefully in time for next week's beer run.

Was just about to light another camp fire when it started sprinkling again. My own big black cloud in a sea of otherwise blue sky. Cracked open a beer and sat under the porch cover until it blew over, got the fire going no problem, and incinerated a couple grocery bags of formerly important papers like old bank statements and pay check stubs dating back into the '80s. Good way to start finishing out the year.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning to all! Low of 24, going up to 47, no precipitation, just wind.....

The talk of "missing packages" is adding to my anxiety of a "delivery delay"..... the only thing that the wifey had mentioned that she would like, was shipping back on the 8th from Illinois. Made it to Irving Tx on the 13th..... where it has been sitting for the last 5 days. The PO is no help... they just say "its in transit"....
The worst part is that I ordered two items from the same seller, at the same time, paying shipping on each item. They combined both items into the same box, but still charged the 'double' shipping. I wouldn't mind if they upgraded the shipping to priority mail, but just left it at first class.... probably contributing to the delay....

Yesterday's shop time was very productive! Both toy boxes got the final coats of finish, drying overnight. They with get rubbed / polished today and get the hardware put back on. The Chalet / trinket box turned out well, first time I had used 'black stain'..... looked like India Ink going on.... That was actually scary, I was worried it was going to ruin the box. Just a few final touches left on that. The pressure is off.... done in plenty of time!

I need to make a few errands this morning, then out to the shop for completion.

Hope everyone that was dealing with weather stays warm and dry!

Everyone have a great day!

The postmaster called the carrier and asked her to ask at the house for the package back. We haven’t heard yet or seen the result.

RNG, that Macaroni Grill in Albq. closed up about 4 years ago.... due to "poor management". It was usually packed on the evening/ weekends, so wasn't due to lack of business....
We ate there one time about a year before they closed..... We were not impressed and didn't know what the big fuss was about eating there....

Good morning, all, 10 going up to 34 and grey
Got the driveway cleared using the snow blower and neighbor got the last few inches cleared from the road. Had the kid shovel the walkways, grudgingly even though paying him....

May need to modify plow as it was repurposed for tractor to move snow move sideways rather than just pushing.

Randy - good to hear about your health getting back to normal
RNG - sorry about the leak-hope not too many $ to fix
LS - boxes came out great-wish I had your skill

Glad to hear everyone made it through the snow without power loss or damage-

Stay safe and be well

Fedex started dropping off boxes down by road again. UPS guy is usually the same person and he drops at house. Mailman is great too-won't fit in mailbox he drives on up here.
We have lost at least 1 Fedex package in the last month or so, who knows where it went, or maybe who it went with

I have found several “delivered” FedEx packages in my mailbox.

Yep, at front door or handed to person, often means in mailbox.
I’ve had that problem with the USPS, a couple of years ago they lost a replacement motor for one of my garage door openers. Got an email every month telling me they were still searching diligently for it, after six months they declared it lost and reimbursed me.

In my business I dealt with insurance companies, some disguised as warranties, some losses through fire or water. Sometimes the customer would pay us and get reimbursed but most times I got paid directly. It won’t be fast usually and you have to jump through the right hoops, but most are fair.
We did one job in a huge house in Ocean City that had smoke damage. All the furniture and window treatments were damaged. The furniture required stripping to the frames and deodorizing before building. It was about $30k, they had State Farm ins.
Not only did they pay, they gave us an expense deposit at the start.

28 early, 35 now supposed to hit low 20’s tonight, very gray today.

My idea of fun snow removal is a couple of 75 degree days. We haven’t had big storm since 01/18, that was a lot of snow and wind.
