Went full-on old school yesterday for what should be the last mowing of the year. Got the Ford out for leaf "raking". The refurbed 5' Caroni deck was finished about a month ago, and the blades were modified with wings:

It is amazing. I was just out at the Hershey Medical Center which is only minutes from the OP. It was like summer there. I have had no grass to cut for at least 2 months and only live 2 hours away in the Poconos. I have had snow to measure. I love that area of Pennsylvania. It ALWAYS involves a run down to Messicks. I bought nothing this trip but what a nice bunch of people.

I'm less than 5 miles from Messicks. The deck was cutting some grass during that raking operation. Took advantage of the beautiful weather and got the Kubota set up for snow. Hope we get some this Winter.

It was a really warm weekend in SE PA. Did a few customers final cuts and my own property, too.
Weather looks a bit less friendly this week.

Chim, reading the thread title I thought you might be buying a new tractor!

Do not know your age, but I am thinking of buying a third tractor, an L2501, and if I do it will (at nearly 74) be the final CUT for me! :laughing:

Turned 71 this year. The L4240 will likely be my last tractor. Bought it 2 years ago w/ 977 hours on it. It's a dream to run. Still have the Ford 1210 as a backup. Spent a few fortnights in the Harmony / Zelie area back in the mid 70's. Betcha know where that is
