Nice work!
With 36 HP I hope you are hydrostatic vs geared.

I had a similar (but factory made rig) and my 1st low range was even too fast so I had to do the opposite and re rig for rear blowing.
But then with a rear camera I don't complain.

The tractor is a Massey 1742, hydro. When I bought it, I chose a seven ft blower for the back. Big drifts, slow is precious. This blower is five and a half ft with the same size fan.

Had also given some thoughts on giving this TJD a home on the blower. It only has about 18 hp so maybe not enough grunt 9D6572C7-5F9F-4D0E-B8BF-009CD467ABB4.jpeg

Hydraulic drive was my first plan. However, the power available with hydraulics from the 36 or so at the pto was a concern for me. Skid steer hyd blowers are run from a 75+ hp engine. The ones on compact tractors on the net always show operation in a couple inches, work great. The options of sprocket changes is there, but with the hp on hand 540 is what the design is for, must be for a reason. The snow we get drifted here, sometimes you can drive up on it. Trying to plow some last year stopped me in a couple of feet, turn around and blow. This will be interesting for sure. Changing to the bucket to break up hard pack is easy. Also have a Land Pride six ft blade for the back to back drag from the buildings. Grabbed it from local auction for under $500. Installing on the tractor tomorrow. Even painted lol.

Drifting snow is a different animal, for sure. Where I used to live I experienced that a few times. Go from bare pavement to 6 ft of snow in a short distance. Don't get that here and definitely not suitable conditions for an inverted blower. I had to blow up to 6 feet of snow at the end of last season and that was snow that had been plowed over and over, so it was packed hard. Very slow going. One thing that helped was drift cutters. I welded some drift cutters to the sides of the blower and that knocked the snow down and in front of the blower (most of it anyways). If you get a lot of drifting snow you may want to consider adding those to your blower. Food for thought anyways.

I see you are using double roller chain for the driveshaft coupling and was wondering where you got that. I need to make a similar connection for my front mount, offset rotary mower.

Hillbilly, the double chain connector is just two sprockets and weld on hubs back to back. The mating bits were faced on the lathe to make a flat surface to give room for flex. I have 1 1/4 on one side and 1 1/2 on the other. Installing is a bit of a challenge, getting everything aligned.
TYM Thanks, been building stuff all my life. Have to find a pic of a tube frame dune buggy I built about 1970.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but I was referring to the chain itself.

The double row chain was salvaged from an old combine. Standard farm stuff.
