I turned 60 today and...

I woke up with a stiff and very sore lower back. Been awhile since I have had this pain and as usual did nothing to deserve it. What a way to celebrate 'my' day. Is this also the new normal? :hissyfit:

Happy Birthday to you. The aches and pains are not the new norm. They can come and go due to level of activity or bending on a given day compared to what your body is used to. You may not even realize you're overdoing it at a given time and your body tells you the next day - and possibly the day after that - perhaps for a week. If you know you overdid a couple ibuprofen before bed can make the next day a lot better. Getting older doesn't mean you must become an invalid or couch potato. I'm 74 and still work in the holes I dig. Just take it slower. Your mind may think you're 29 but your body will clarify that misconception.

Happy Birthday DragonEggs. I wasn't really bothered by aches/pains until after my 75th year. You are still a young pup - don't worry about it for another decade plus. Besides - being over there on the "wet" side will keep you lubed up.

I'm taking those meds they give for the Virus, to combat Arthitis. Been prescribed for that for decades. Only a couple of weeks in. Shall see if it helps.

Appreciate you guys! I truly love this forum and hope I give as much as I get out of it. And don't take my whining post wrong... I am blessed beyond words to have a wonderful wife, life, healthy children, grandchildren, and a career that has allowed me to experience far more than I imagined. I am very fortunate!

Happy Birthday mate. And YES, it is the beginning of the new 'norm' At least it was for me. First laminectomy around 40 or so and 2nd one 60 ish. Can't remember exactly but that is the new norm too.

As for your sun moving south, so is ours. Still 91.4 (33C) today and it is 4.30 pm.
