68F and partly cloudy @ 01:00

Got some research done on softeners yesterday, also an email write-up I sent off describing what is going on to a place I saw reccomended on a couple of websites.

Had an answer back in just under an hour - they recommended repairing the existing softener valve and linked to a bunch of info on their website - including links to the specific parts/tools needed to do it - as well as the option of replacing the softener valve head/mechanism, which they also have available.

Cost on the recommended parts was around $120 ... add an additional $42.00 if the Brine Valve Piston needs replaced.

They seem like good folks ...

Plans for today pretty much open ... though I do plan to get a couple of suet feeders loaded and hung, fish fed and fish room maintenance done, and clean up the grill.

Hope everyone has a productive, safe, and enjoyable day.

Good to hear from you Roy. Glad you’re taking it easy!

Best of luck to you tomorrow Drew. This is the beginning of the next great adventure!

Prayers for all.

brother and wife just called, headed back to Virginia after getting my apt ready, nice to know it is there waiting for me.
finished PT today, good to get a little exercise, they have been giving me basic tests for balance to pass and I aced it all.
They are all happy for me, am one of their success stories when they also have to deal with lots of spinal cord injuries and folks who don't have as
bright a future as I do. So nothing more planned for this afternoon.

Tomorrow they give me conventional chemo through my port, and start the discharge process. I hope it is more organized than what I've seen so far.
Then they box up the clothes I have here and put me in a transport ambulance to go the .8 miles over to assisted living.

because I won't drive for several weeks, it's going to be a predictable schedule for awhile, but once I do, and only if chemo is not leaving me weak and dizzy, I hope to go for short drives to local parks to do some walking. Will take small rolling seat called a Rollator, so if I find a spot near a lake I can sit and take pics, enjoy the sun on my face. Have gotten pretty pale in 5 weeks inside.

Roy, your body is talking to you, glad you are taking it easy.

They do sound like good folks, especially for a Saturday.

Mind sharing the URL? My softener system has been spotty for the past few years, and I should get some help...

That's what I thought.

Figured that I wouldn't hear anything until Monday at the earliest.

Mind sharing the URL?

Not at all - here's their Contact Us page:

Softenerparts.com

My softener system has been spotty for the past few years, and I should get some help...

They seem to have a good bit of info on their website.

They prefer interacting via email, although they do offer after sales support via phone as well.

Nice Flags, especially being Flag Day. I should change mine. Today is also my parent’s anniversary, or would be if still around to celebrate.

Turning into easy, lazy day as the rain has been gentle but on and off so nothing is drying out. Can see the rain down over the ocean, likely to move up here shortly. Oh well.

A bit of covid update. Up to 723 cases statewide, still only 17 deaths. Our island is 81 cases, none active, no newly reported in almost a month. Most of new cases are on Oahu, partly due to increased testing and some small group/family type outbreaks.
Sadly, we had 21 idiots in a cult (Carbon Nation) that arrived from Ca this week and immediately broke the 14 day quarantine. If I read the report correctly they may get to do the 14 days in jail unless bailed out. They refused transport back to Ca as they claim to be relocating here.

62F and cloudy @ 22:30, rain off to the south ... OH, WV, PA ... ended up being a beautiful day.

Got the one end of the side plate for the LPGS welded up and the steel on the other heated up and bent.

Neighbor came over with his 4020 and haybine and cut down both the upper and lower fronts:

Ham and bean soup was not ready for dinner when I was, so I ran down to Subway and grabbed that Cold Cut Combo ... was very tempted to eat the second half but saved it for midnight snack ... :D

Heading up for the "late shift" as soon as I place the order for the softener parts ...

Dad said the L5030 was overheating. Was blowing radiator and air compressor died, like it’s locked up.
I tried to explain the cha Ching cleaner attachment, but he wasn’t understanding me too well on the phone.

Finished putting LIncoln data from book into spreadsheet. Around 200 lines and 30 columns. A visual is so much better to comprehend than a story format.

My nephew from wife’s sister is now texting me. We hadn’t spoken in years until the funeral. He now does similar work as me, so we had some good conversations.

SIL kids don’t have anything to do with their mom. Long story, but I don’t blame them. SIL now pizzed at me. I think SIL is mentally unstable.
He asked me for some of the Lincoln history so I told him I’d send a copy of spreadsheet I’m working on.

Got a loud mocking bird outside at 1:30 am.

Son mowed most of yard.

Nice cool day today.
