Ted, that hobby shed sure is taking on own personality. Great job.

I just hope I can organize all the R/C stuff that I have, plus fit the wifeys craft stuff..... I think I should have bought a bigger shed...

Ron and Kyle, you both said you gave up Flowmax because of problems, do you mind sharing? I’ve been taking it a year or so, still get up once a night.

My side effects were. Lots of dizziness. On top of that I drank a glass of wine. Almost passed out. Still had to get up at least one time every night. Still doing the same at night. But no more dizziness. As I get older. It seems that lots of meds make me feel lightheaded.
I also think a lot of the meds being prescribed are over dosed. My blood pressure med was at 20mg for a year. I am now down to 5mg. With BP staying more stable than it was at 20mg.

A productive day, but I am dragging.... got all the backing nailers put in the shed, and the ceiling insulated. Took a break around 2pm and came into make an early dinner. My choice...Philly Cheesesteaks and a side of pasta (mini shells) smothered in white cheddar and bacon. Salad of Asian mix with kale.

Went out after eating and picked up all the tools.... too stuffed to do any more work, plus Mr knee was complaining loudly. Now time for shower and relaxation. Tomorrow is another day....

Flomax targets BPH singularly. Sounds good right? I had been taking Terazosin and tried switching to Flomax. Unknowingly, the Terazosin treats high BP too, and when I switched, my BP went "through the roof". I had to make an emergency visit to my MD to get him to switch me back. I didn't know I had high BP at the time.

I only take 5mg of Terazosin still, and I still have to get up multiple times to P, but at least I can initiate flow and get it out instead of being painfully "locked up".

BPH meds can also take away some of your pleasure in your *** life.

"Buppies, glad your pigs were not roving wild hogs."

Randy .. domesticated hogs can do as much damage as feral hogs. They all root up the ground .. as Buppies can testify.

Pigs .. gonna be pigs.

My point was wild hogs tend to be much larger groups than 2. At least where I grew up in NC, you seldom saw less than 6-8 in a pack, herd whatever they call them in your neck of the woods. Often it was a sow and a couple of years of pigs.

Thanks for the info. I might try without it for a while.

Thanks, I’ll talk to the doctor about it.

Could be your BP meds were lowering your BP too far ... I’ve had that happen.

My dosages have been reduced by at least half ... generally speaking, no further dizziness since.

Has anyone researched a very basic “I’ve fallen and can’t get up” alert system. The hospital said Mom should get one. She has a flip cell she carries around her neck and I really don’t think she needs something else but they do.

She seems to be back to normal after her bout with pneumonia - non viral.

The challenge with a flip phone in an emergency, Don, is if she'll be thinking clearly enough to use it effectively. The big alarm companies like ADT offer a one button pendant that summons help and through which voice communication can be held. Some of them have fall sensors to automatically summon help.

Yes, this.

When I passed out from vasovagal or whatever, I admit, I did not feel good and was heading to the restroom. But I didn't make it and only realized I had passed out when I woke up and my little boy (3ish) was kneeling beside me....

Good evening all. 64F for the start, partly cloudy sky, wind almost calm. Light wind day, sky clouded up some then cleared off, high temp was 92F. Bike ride this morning, nap and shower, after dinner got HR monitor working again, wiping contacts down with 90% Isopropyl alcohol did the trick.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson unchanged.
David glad you got to exercise the tractor
Kyle that is a lot of work on tomatoes
Don why is it that the smoke detectors always announce malfunction at 1 AM?
Phil, nice check-in
Eric sorry about your internet, like the strawberry story, sounds familiar
Drew, great news on the progress front, sorry about the lack of activity, get old.
Ron thanks for Iris pic, sounds like fun and productive day.
Buppies good to hear hogs not back yet.
Rick, penetrating oil
RNG good to hear no big deal to get hydraulics working, sounds like good shooting class, late in year for rain?
RS good luck getting WS back up and running and recall Kiddie replaced
RS 90F is about the norm, not sure what is normal for humidity, return to DP in 70F range returning soon.
Ted Nice job on porch cover, so what was distracting you from hobby shack?
Catch up tomorrow
prayers for all especially Drew
stay safe and healthy

61 and cloudy, going to 79.

Don, my MIL has the call-for-help pendant supplied at her assisted living, but RNG mentioned one we've heard of and would look at if she were living elsewhere. My wife actually just got to see her mom late yesterday for the first time since around March 11 when they went into lockdown. Unfortunately, it was at the emergency room where they took her after she fell and got a bad lump on her head. They believe dehydration caused her to pass out...fortunately she was in the hall near the dining area, because the pendant would not have been able to push the button. Hope you can find something. Falling is scary at that age, as even some of us have learned recently.

Thomas, I didn't want the day to end either, due to the perfect weather. I was on the tractor almost 4 hours, and walking a food plot, seeding it, the rest of the 4 hour period. Hoped the light rain I saw on the western horizon would make it here, but it rained itself out.

BEF, I recognized Massanutten...I used to hunt grouse there often...near the Ft. Valley area...and of course gone skiing there many times. My MIL still owns a timeshare there. Anyone had luck "selling" a timeshare? They don't allow dogs, so no good to us and she can't go there anymore.

Happy Flag Day. Isn't is beautiful? In all its forms it is magnificent.

up way too early, mind going 200mph, making lists...
but got it all done, now to get cleaned up and await breakfast.
Oh what I would give for a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Day after tomorrow that will come true, yeah.
Today another boring day watching the clock hands go around slowly.
Brother, wife and helpers packing up small amount of furniture and furnishings to take over to asst living place today, so it will
be ready for me tomorrow, so I expect some phone calls "what about this?,etc".

My BP gets low at time. Not sure I understand Flomax issue, does it lower or raise BP?
I still have to get up five times a night, but it's all more controlled, and has eliminated bed/clothes wetting, night and day difference. But it's like taking statins and getting cramps, sometimes gain is not worth the pain.

Hope you all have a quiet and relaxing Sunday.

Now that big Massey is gone, guess I'll have to change my avatar. Hmmmm.
And little Massey goes in three weeks. Tractorless. Oh dear.

I have always flown a 3x5 flag off my front porch. Sister questioned me on it, I just think of my Dad and Uncle in WWII, my friends who got shot up in Vietnam, and I think of our country as a whole and the amazing freedoms that flag stands for. I'll wave a flag to remind folks of those freedoms.
