LS, watched your sons video of acid staining the garage floor. Interesting. I’d be worried about the ammonia but it’s pretty open.

It was pretty strong, but there was a strong breeze, so really did not accumulate much. It really was like a giant litter box.... surprisingly, it did not last for long....

I did start on the electric project.... cleared the area where wire would go through the wall (remaining 6 bags of pellets from winter), had to move a bunch of random oak boards to make room for relocated pellets. Drilled hole in wall. Got all the components together for outside box, GFCI outlet and cover, UF wire. Set box on low stake out by pond. THEN.... got sidetracked....

I spotted a few pieces of scrap pressure treated wood left over from son´ s project. Then I spotted some left over cedar planks I had.... I had a thought to surprise wifey with some deck rail planter boxes. A few hours later after cutting, sanding, staining, and installing, successfully surprised her!

Needless to say, electric did not get done.... although I had intended to finish, Mother Nature said no... not today. A t-storm was brewing nearby, a few flashes, some rumbling, but no rain. I was not going to lay wire down across the ground while all this going on. I figured tomorrow....

Totally forgot... I am getting 1 1/4 yards of concrete in one of those U-haul -it concrete trailers at 8 am tomorrow for the son´s shed project.... nuts!

Well, the best laid plans.....

At least wifey is happy and I did accomplish something....

I did the 2 part epoxy paint on my garage floor, with the sprinkles on top. Had to clean real good, let dry, paint. Staining much faster.
Did he get line where garage door was down on it?

Nice flower boxes.

Good evening all.62F for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light to moderate wind, not a lot of clouds, and high temp of 85F. We were schedule to get new couches today so had to clean leave off of front porch, move old couches to pickup before new ones showed. wife took off with pickup to donate old couches, and I awaited the new arrivals. Delivery showed 1/2 earlier that predicted, couches came in ok, and they were gone in 15 minutes. We like the new couches, three seats with recliner in outer 2 seats. After lunch and nap went for bike ride, and then moved cadence sensor back to Trek aired up tire, and made sure tire levers tube and CO2 inflator back in rack bag.

65 right now...high in the mid-70's. Maybe some showers, but it doesn't look like it.
We got a strong storm yesterday evening...windy and lots of rain. Blew through pretty quickly though...

Chores: Definitely a dump run! Haircut, if the barbershop is open. Way too wet to mow, but while I'm waiting for the lawn to dry, I have a suspension seat adapter to install on the Zero-Turn. Should fit without any modification, but "one size fits all" frequently mean fits none (without modifications)

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 3:15AM. Rain and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. High 74F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Locally heavy rainfall possible.
Woke up way too early to a very stuffy room. Opened the slider for some fresh air, but the wind appears to be picking up and I can hear thunder in the distance. But weather radar shows the storm heading away from here.:confused2:

Sounds like good progress on the garden, Jay. Seems like this year, summer came early here, too.

Last night the weather lady showed flood warnings in effect north of here, thank goodness not here! Hope the worst of it misses you, RS.
I started that bushing project thinking I'd do a quick job with an adjustable reamer and knock out a couple of bushings. Ha! The holes were so worn it would have taken days to get 'em round with that reamer. That 10x rule was pretty accurate.

So you had a messy helper for your paint job, Thomas? Bet you're glad that job is done!

Sometimes you just gotta do what feels right, Ted...

Good luck with the bar move, Ken. Slow & steady...

I don't envy you guys your black flies. Dad used to take the family fishing in Canada when I was little, and I still remember the bloody welts and fiery itching...:hissyfit:

Ten sheets of plywood sheathing, four 9'x20' tarps, and lots of big rocks later, and the trench has a roof. I can hear an occasional rain drop on the porch cover and more thunder in the distance, so I'm about to find out how good a job I did. I normally shop in Chico, but needed some steel and that supplier is in Oroville, so that's where I went yesterday. Much larger HD and HF in Oroville, both much better stocked. The HF stop was on a whim, as I'd planned to recycle tarps that had been worn out on the firewood stacks, then remembered HF had pretty good prices on their tarps. The 9'x20' jobs were only eleven dollars each, and will do a much better job. Not sure what I'll use the plywood for after this, though. Also tarped over the pile of sifted dirt, finally something useful for all the rocks around here to do. Just hope I put enough rocks down to hold those tarps and plywood down, things could get pretty ugly out there if the wind comes up enough.

Got some seat time in on the tractor using the box blade to take some of the off camber out of the trail to the back of the house. Had a couple of spots where it was around 10ー, now it's all less than 2ー. Found more than a few bread basket sized rocks, and put 'em to use on the tarps. Used the spoil, a mix of dirt and gravel, to fill in a low spot on the driveway just before it reaches the concrete, and hope the rain today cleans it up a little.

Made a short video showing the solar rack and tarps, mainly to see how well the rack was aligned with true south. I think it'll be OK, not much I can do about it now anyway...

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
