I can relate . My Cummins ISX in my Semi died . What started out as the lift / low pressure fuel pump , turned in the high pressure fuel pump imploding . Which , sends metal chunks into oil . $3000+ for new high pressure fuel pump . $4500 new crankshaft , as #1 journal was trashed pretty bad . Off hand can't remember what the new oil pump costs , not cheap . New camshaft , as the rollers from the fuel pump had chewed up the end of the camshaft . $9000+ in labor . Other than the rods , pistons and liners , which look amazingly new ??? , it will be a complete out of frame rebuild , to the tune of $26,500+:confused2:

This started a week ago Friday . So each day the bill kept going up and up and up .

But ah Heck , It's only money , Can't take it with Me so either I spend it on crap I don't need , repairing My money maker or the best one is Spoiling My Grandchildren

( Side note : Truck in avatar is not the one with the ISX . That was a 2009 I had years ago

The beginning of the week I went out to fire up the dozer and noticed the hydraulic tank was way low and oil was running out of the side and down over the final drive. 30 year old iron - oh-boy. Started digging in yesterday feeling my way along. Took out the seat and seat platform. Leak seemed to be under the big battery disconnect switch on the right. The 5 hydraulic hard lines to the left side blade cylinders run under the steering valve and disconnect switch.

Kept taking stuff off until I could get access to the lines.

This will be a good job during black fly season in my back yard shop :) will help keep me self isolated too.

OP here. I repowered the flat plate with a HF motor. I was amazed that all the dimensions (mounting pattern, shaft height and length etc) were exact matches for the B&S Industrial OE motor. Took about 30 minutes to get it back up and running. $99 bucks!

I did the same with my log splitter a few years ago . Same type B & S motor as you had and the new predator bolted right in place . Had to make a new love-joy coupler guard , and also a new love-joy coupler for the engine I think ?? Thing sits for months and starts on 2nd or 3rd pull every time . My Better half can even start it were as before she could not start the B & S motor .
