Well, I was planning on waiting but figured I'd better get them while I still could, otherwise who knows how long it would be before I could pick them up again.

Now I just need to get my old saw cleaned up and put it up for sale and hope people are still buying stuff. Gotta pay for the new toys somehow!

Had a chance to work on my Startrite bandsaw some today. I had bought new belts and tried putting them on but I couldn't get the full range from the variable speed setup, there's not a lot of info out there but luckily I found parts diagram.

Found out the pivot arm was repaired and apparently they put it on upside down

Once I flipped it over and made some adjustments it seems to be working well.
Even timed the blade and the speed readout seems to be right on.

All together and running nice and quiet, still need to get a shorter belt for the air pump.

And then one more glamor pic of it from the outside still need some blades and guide inserts for it to make it useable.

Also finished wiring up my garage door opener, I added a second height switch that can be selected with the toggle switch.
Switch up opens the door the full 14ft, switch down only opens the door to 8ft, which will fit the forklift(without the fork up too much), tractor, and my truck.

I like that dual height option but my manual lift is infinitely height adjustable and still operates during power outages. .

My uncle's shop has the same setup, that's where I got the idea from. It is nice to be able to just hit the button and not have to wait and stop it, will come in really handy if I ever get a remote for it.

Well serves me right. When I first put in the door I installed what was a supposedly commercial opener. . Realistically it was probably a heavy duty residential unit at best as I wore it out within the first ten years.

I never bothered replacing it.

And then when you realize you misjudged your timing and need the door a few inches higher to clear your tractor cab you TRIPLE tap the remote.


Pretty certain that’s how mine got worn out.

That's how the remote would work for mine also, it's just nice to only have to hit the open and it'll stop at a known height.
My uncle's shop has a single door for 12 bays with 4-6 techs working at any given time so the door gets quite a workout. (shop has A/C and heat so stays closed up almost year round).

The door is set to a height so most cars/trucks can come in/out but saves on wear and tear and keeps from losing all that nice climate controlled air

I did mine that way because I'm lazy lol

Only time I shorten the cycle is if I'm walking in/out doorway. If equipment is being moved I let it completely open. Even though I'm opening a 12ft tall doorway to drive my pickup thru.

I make enough stupid mistakes without setting myself up for failure with the overhead door...

My man door is right next to the overhead door. My only two positions is ALL the way up or 12 inches up for circulation and privacy from my tenants in the maintenance yard.

That is the nice part about about the opener, I can stop the door wherever I want.

New addition to the shop since I have a lot of resto stuff I want to work on in the near future.
It'll be replacing one of the slightly smaller red HF cabinets, this one came with a vac/recovery system!

Also order some blades for the new bandsaws and have them both adjusted pretty well, now it's time to clean up the old ones and put them up for sale.

I know what you mean about cleaning up and clearing out stuff. I just sold my Clemco sandblast pot to two young guys (brothers) who are into vehicle restorations.

That's a nice blast pot, wouldn't mind something that that one day also.

I currently have 2 IR 5hp 80gal compressors, a Jet 7x14 horizontal bandsaw, a walker turner 16in vertical bandsaw (2spd), and the like new red HF blast cabinet I need to sell and get out of the shop.

Also have to make a scrap run soon, my pile is getting too big for my liking.

I went to the scrap yard Sunday and brought home an IH 2 row Lister!!! I'll get pics tomorrow.
