Again, both of you assume that the Chinese would have allowed a American to learn that information and not kept it quiet like they did with anything else about it suppressing any information from leaving the country.

From the article:

Aaron Z

Well why don't we directly ask the person that the article is discussing what really happened so we don't have all this hearsay?

"The CDC would not make Quick, who still works for the agency, available for comment."

Oh, that's why.

Well, we know the Chinese tried to silence the DR that broke the news to the world, and had him sign a statement that none of this corona had happened. I believe they are STILL covering up a lot.

And they also expelled the American press which greatly limited reports from on the street.

But that’s certainly not to say that the Chicoms don’t bear the bulk of the responsibility for not being forthcoming with the rest of the world about what was going in their own country and the threat it posed to the human race.

And if they did why would we believe what they said is true any more then what we believe what they say is true now?

I guess the question is why did you post this with no opinion either way, then take counter opinions to the first comments?

I posted it because it’s news that’s relevant to the topic of this thread.

The opinions of mine that you refer to are based on what’s reported in the article.

My guess is you just enjoy stirring the pot, but don't want to take responsibility when the soup starts to taste bad and we have to throw it out. You enjoy conflict.

You’re entitled to your opinion ...

Unless they hoped it was a threat they could handle, and one the rest of world would have a bit more difficulty with. Even if the Chinese have under reported their deaths, the impact on the rest of the world and the world economy far outweighs the relatively small loss of life and disruption they had experienced so far.

The question I struggle with is, even if they were responsible for an "accident" that happened on purpose, and it can (or has been) proven, what do we do about it?

For now, all I can do is hunker down, watch my retirement savings evaporate and hope for the best.

The rule in Congress as is written now requires that members be present to vote

My understanding is the House and Senate have different rules.
