Backhoe Cracked Transmission case between bolts attaching backhoe

Run a video camera as you use the backhoe. Also, maybe time to get the welder out and add to the subframe so that the backhoe is better supported.

I'd like to see the OP in action. 75% of me thinks it would be okay. 25% of me wonders if he beats the $h*t out of it. I repeat, stumps are evil.

It's about the worst thing a homeowner can do to a CUT with a backhoe. That and dealing with rocks.

I built my backhoe to take a beating and every once in a while, something still gives. So I can imagine how much more sensitive a tractor can be with a backhoe since it's not really designed for it.

You mean to tell me you’re not supposed to pull and pull on a stump so hard you repeatably lift the front tires and loader bucket off the ground??

Maybe he should sell and buy a John Deere ! Oh wait a minute they have casting issues too.

I remember when the OP had his first occurence of the cracked transmission case from his backhoe use, and all the problems he experienced getting Kioti Warranty to work with him. We all wished him good succes at repairs. However, I am surprised to find the cracked case has occured again.

Either were looking at a serious design flaw, or the OP has abused his tractor during backhoe usage. Tractors are basically AG equipment, and not designed for trenching in rocky hard terrain. Digging stumps out with a backhoe is abuse in my opinion. I can grind any stump 6 inches below ground in 15 minutes with the Kioti stump grinder. I can grind 50 stumps in a week, and never need my backhoe for this task.

Also, are we looking at two cracked cases of the 10,000 Kioti tractors sold??

SR...read my post very carefully, i ASKED are we looking at two occurence of cracked transmission cases. You tell me how many Kioti tractors have cracked transmission cases.

I also am aware of an occurence where bolts for the subframe stripped out the threads.

There seems to be some questioning of whether backhoe abuse is the source of the trans case failures. In my instance, my dealer's head tech happened to be on sight 1 hour prior to the failure working on my NX for a DPF issue. He seen what I was digging and how I was digging it. In this case I was digging 300' of water line 6' deep in compacted pit-run with a 12 inch wide bucket and the direction of dig was with the long axis of the machine, not angled. He specifically said, that is what the backhoe is built for and that's how you dig in this circumstance. Later, when the dealer came to retrieve my broke tractor they took pictures for the warranty claim which included position of the tractor to the work being performed, placement of the tires, and location of the outriggers. Both the dealer and the warranty officer received those pictures and concluded that user error was not reason for the failure. Warranty covered full cost of the repairs.
